I just read Neogaf and I cannot get the amount of hate he is getting.

Reading between the lines it come across like he genuinely can't accept homosexuality in accordance with his faith. Clearly the guy shouldn't be leading a liberal party and if he wants remain faithful to the bibles teachings I'd suggest he probably shouldn't be in the party at all!

Seems like a 'I don't believe in what you do but I defend your right to do it' is a pretty liberal viewpoint.

It is more likely that he has quit because the media can't get off the damn subject, regardless of how many times he said that gay sex wasn't a sin they just reworded the question and hit him again with it rather than ask anything that was actually relevant.

If christians can't integrate in a democratic society we should send them all back to where they came from.

Explains a lot.

Type II diabetes is not an excuse for idiocy.

She said she was skipping meals as she had back to back interviews to do. Low blood sugar = confusion in some cases.

I wouldn't say it's a stretch.

If she was insulin dependent - she could make more of a case. Your blood sugars tend to fluctuate more.
I think it's utter bollocks personally.

It might not be bollocks but it must mean that her blood sugar has been wrong for at least 15 years.

She might not be very good at monitoring this. I mean, we know she's not good with numbers.

Actually that sort of proves both your points

I was going to say exactly what moggy did. She's been giving out interviews like this for years. She said always talked bollocks and is totally out of her depth. Maybe her low blood sugar levels led to confusion, but if she wasn't confused then she would have just spouted crap anyway. Plus I would expect that if your blood sugar level reached such a level that your were rambling and babbling then she probably would have collapsed shortly after which I assume didn't happen.

hopefully Tim Farron now takes the DUP whip and crosses the floor to sit with his old pals in the Tories again.

Glad he's gone.

Goodbye Tim Farron
Though I never knew you at all
You had the grace to hold yourself
While those around you crawled
They crawled out of the woodwork
And they whispered into your brain
They set you on the treadmill
And they made you change your name
And it seems to me you lived your life
Like a candle in the wind
Never knowing who to cling to
When the rain set in
And I would have liked to have known you
But I was just a kid
Your candle burned out long before
Your legend ever did

Jo Swinson is odds on with Ladbrokes. Personally I'd have thought Cable but even with her 10-ish years of Westminster experience and a cabinet role(well, Junior Equalities Minister) under her belt Swinson's only in her mid-late 30s so they may see her as a viable long term option.

I can't really stand her, but she does at least have a presence in her constituency. She's always floating about Bishopbriggs, Milngavie, Kirkintilloch etc. opening some shop or attending some shitey gala day. She was at least responsible in part for the scrapping of renaming the local prison HMP Bishopbriggs - my mums house price would've dropped like strawberry float.

People say Vince Cable is old - he's 74 now, but by the time of the next election he'll be 74.

I think it'll be Ed Davey, I'm quite looking forward to voting in a leadership election for the first time.

I do find it perplexing that younger voters are now all suddenly hot for Jezza, forgetting Labour's views on Brexit.
