This is like an ITK football transfer rumour.

Only details remain? Aren't details usually pretty important?

What a gooseberry fool tweet

That suggestion of 72% of 18-24 voters turning out to vote looks to be way off. There's potential to grow the vote for Labour there still, less so for the Conservatives.

This is also unexpected. Potentially less secure of a vote share for Labour though.

This is also quite remarkable surely, a majority of working people backing Labour?

Turnout polls have historically been very unreliable, particularly in the days following an election. I'd take it with a pinch of salt.

Oh interesting. Does it become more accurate after a while for the result to settle down and people respond honestly?

Uhhhhh.

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/po ... ommentsDiv

More specifically, this part if it is true.

The DUP is understood to have a list of demands that is 45 points long, originally drawn up for the 2015 election, when it thought it might hold the balance of power. It also includes removing funding from MPs who abstain their seats in Parliament. Sinn Fein has never taken its seats in Westminster, but funds local party offices using the expenses it receives from Westminster. It currently has seven elected MPs.

Other demands include the restoring of a particularly controversial Orange Order parade to Drumcree church, through a Nationalist stronghold, which the Northern Irish Parades Commision has not permitted for twenty years.

:datass: I do like the potential possibility of getting blown up on my way to work.

Those poll results are about what I expected.

Are the % of voters based on the population or the people who registered to vote?

Some of our English and Scottish friends may be thinking: "Isn't something like a parade a kind of silly thing to have as a demand and negotiating point?"

They are correct. Welcome to NI politics.

Believe me when I say there is a high possibility that the DUP will sabotage this coalition with a very long list of completely unreasonable demands. Some may be thinking that this would be self-defeating. They are also correct.

Guardian is reporting that Diane Abbott suffers from diabetes, her blood sugar was strawberry floated up during the campaign.

Explains a lot.

News on a Tory/DUP deal pushed to next week, using today's fire disaster as an excuse, but...

This is NI politics in a nutshell.

Good to hear Sinn Fein are going to register their concerns.

Tim Farron has resigned, which seems unexpected.
