Young people don’t really have much choice do they?

The Lib Dems are pro-EU but young people remember that they jumped into bed with the Tories and helped impose higher tuition fees.

The Greens are pro-EU but nobody seriously thinks that they are going to get into power.

So they are left with the Conservatives or Labour as the only real options. Weighing up who would be better for young people overall (not just on Brexit) would give an easy win amongst the young for Labour.

With Brexit, they had the choice of "Brexit means Brexit, red white and blue Brexit" or Labour who at least said they wanted softer Brexit.

But none of that really matters here as people didn’t vote in this election based on Brexit, because we are strawberry floated with that either way. People looked at the other policies and voted accordingly.

It's not a sudden thing. They were the ones who got him in to the leadership position in the first place.

Farron is a limp little bastard. Theresa May doesn't seem to let her faith get in the way of her being a banana split. She's the devil, this woman. A compassionless stick insect with a heart like a shrivelled date. strawberry floating bitch.

Easy Blue Eyes. Easy. It's not worth being that angry over...

There is a difference though between having strong conservative (small c) religious beliefs as the leader of the Liberal party, compared to being the leader of the Conservative (big c) party.

I can’t remember if it was somebody on here or if I heard it on TV, but somebody once said that Farron reminded them of a “trendy” vicar. Which is pretty spot on.

Corbyn seemed to manage it and i'm sure he doesn't even have a big security team like May.

I think it's pretty obvious she feared being accosted by angry residents on Live TV. People do want answers but there aren't any yet.

She has promised that everyone will either be rehomed in the area or London in general. Depends where there are free council homes available, I guess. 500-600 is a lot to magic up.

I thought is was 200?

I asked about the number on rllmuk. Kensington has the highest/near the highest amount of empty properties in country apparently. Ripe for CPA or rental

Maybe I'm thinking of residents rather than homes.

May had a meeting with the NI parties today, including Sinn Fein.

The leader of the Alliance party just said she has very little faith that the English government can remain an impartial peace broker with what she has heard about the deal with the DUP.

I have every sympathy for these victims, but the government should absolutely not be seizing privately owned homes just because they're vacant and owned by foreign investors.

I think all other options should be explored first, but if the housing situation in London is genuinely so bad that it's a choice between temporarily seizing empty homes and throwing these people onto the streets then I would opt to piss off the Russian oligarchs any day.

I'm not saying that is the choice, I don't know anything about housing in London.

I don't think that's the option - it's "putting them in social housing X miles away" instead.

And this isn't (I think) it's "Where are we sleeping tonight" situation it's "They should be re homed long term here"

Side note - As resident authority figure - How long are we keeping Election and Politics thread. With the two (and Brexit0 it's confusing. E.g. fire is being talked about in two threads ATM

This is true. I think 'election day' is over, so let's continue this in the usual Politics Thread. My bad.
