PostEmails problem
by BOR » Thu Feb 18, 2016 10:33 am

A couple of weeks since I bought a new laptop and everything was great, but lately I noticed that my emails disappeared in Sent section. I cannot bring them back or try to syncing them again. So, I look up on websites and strawberry float me I am not only the one who having this problem and it's a common problem. I tried my best to work it out how to get them back or make them re-reappearing again. I couldn't. :(

Does anyone has this issue? Or a way to solve this problem. It's so annoying due I do need to read some previous emails for my work. :x

I am not a tech expert and I thought I would ask this forum for some help. I've got Windows 10 Mail Outlook App if it does help you to spot the problem.

Cheers.

If you are using IMAP and can't see the e-mails from any device connected to the same account, chances are, they are gone for good. This is why I stick with good old POP3 on my desktop so once they are on there, they can only be deleted if I choose to delete them.

Yes?

Hmm...

I do have them on Outlook.com (Used to be hotmail.com online) and on my iPhone Mail too, but it doesn't show up on Windows 10 Mail. It's all so confusing. :fp:

Have you changed the setting for how many items are synced, it defaults to like 30 days or something.

Erm... I am not too sure, but I know I have changed to anytime to download the email.

Yeah thats the when to perform a sync, there is a setting for how far back to download. I can't remember where it is as I stopped using "mail" ages ago because it is a gooseberry fool heap app.

Oh, sucks.

I will try to figure it out how to access my emails. I thought Windows Mail (XP version) was pretty good and now it's a lot of hassle.

Yup, I ended up just using outlook.com until I bought a 365 sub then used the Outlook client.

Can you explain more about this, please?

It has stressed me out at the moment due I've got NVQ assessments and I cannot check what I have submitted to an NVQ assessor or check the previous emails linked with my work so I know what's going on in the past conversation.

Edit: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2958272

I try to this method, but the hell do I know?

I cannot find "User Configuration/Administrative Templates/Microsoft Outlook 2016/Outlook Options/Preferences/E-mail Options" and where is it? :|

Explain?

I stopped using the Mail app because it is gooseberry fool and just went to outlook.com when I wanted emails.

I then bought an Office 365 subscription - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Microsoft-Offic ... office+365

That allows you to use the Outlook program for emails, and that isn't gooseberry fool.

No worries, 365 is handy you get 1tb of OneDrive storage too that is great for using as "cloud" storage to make docs and things available anywhere.

Yeah, it would be good though.

For now, I'm using MailBird for emails as it's free to use and it's even working a lot better than Mail. All of my emails are showing up in everything - Sent, Drafts, etc. :)

Mozilla Thunderbird works with Microsoft accounts and used to closely mimick Microsoft Outlook which the old Outlook Express (or Microsoft Mail) itself was a simple version of, if that makes sense. That's what I would use for offline.

If you can view your old emails on outlook.com then they are still there. Those are the "originals". You want to use POP protocol to download emails if you want to leave copies behind and there will usually be a setting to determine how far back you want to download from, as many people have tens of thousands of emails which makes that a hassle.

But it sounds like Mailbird solved your problem?
