Currently playing this with the British (of course) and enjoying the experience so far. However, the computer's turn takes about 15 minutes, seriously!! Over an evening of playing I completed R&C Quest for Booty form start to finish during the my PC's decision making, no joke. Is there anyway to speed this up, I tried turning off "view computer moves" but that didn't help :(

I've managed to avoid playing this - since i need to be revising - but the last game I played I was British, within five turns I'd amassed every man I could find and took Paris. That was fun.

They just kept on rebelling though :(

How do you delete your save games on this, there doesn't seem to be an obvious way?

According to yahoo answers...

XP: C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\The Creative Assembly\Empire\save_games
Vista: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\The Creative Assembly\Empire\save_games

You may also need to type it in as the AppData folder doesn't always show up.

Also I don't know what you're talking about the AI taking very long seems alright for me.

Once I get to around 1940 on the full campaign map, each end turn takes about three minutes for me. I think it's just the HUGE map, in RtI, it takes about five seconds.

I imagine the U Boats are pretty tough to beat as well.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

Forget U boats, you should see the frustration of launching a chlorine gas attack, only to have wind change directions and have it come back in your face. :x

New expansion pack announced!

Napoleon: Total War

[gametrailers]327865[/gametrailers]

History is as yet unwritten.

Napoleon: Total War™ is the new chapter in the critically acclaimed Total War series and opens up a new narrative layer to the genre-defining franchise. From the early Italian campaign to the Battle of Waterloo, Napoleon covers two decades of relentless battles, a backdrop of a world in flames against which the story of an extraordinary military career unfolds.

Whether you play as the legendary General or against, the outcome of war can never be guaranteed. The course of history relies on your ability to lead your troops through the most intense battles as never seen before in a Total War game.

The genre-defining franchise brings Napoleon to life:
Napoleon: Total War defines a new standard within the genre with exciting characters and a cinematic narrative, mind-blowing battle sequences and an unrivalled mix of turn-based and real-time strategy.

Three new episodic campaigns:
Take command and lead your armies on land and sea over three campaigns: Italy, Egypt and Mastery of Europe. The seamless mix of objective-based missions and sandbox experience makes this the most complete Total War experience to date.

Cutting-edge multiplayer:
Napoleon features fully integrated multiplayer modes and a complete set of online functionalities: Steam achievements, gameplay bonuses, uniform editor and voice communications.

All new Napoleonic battles and units:
Advanced weaponry enables new tactical options and even more exciting real-time battles on an epic scale, while the highly detailed environments and improved battlefield buildings guarantee a realistic recreation of famous historical battles.

Hopefully it will be a bit more fleshed out and a full on expansion pack instead of just a single campaign like Warpath which was also recently announced.

Empire: Total War Multiplayer Beta Opens Monday Alongside More Downloadable Content

The long-promised beta for Empire: Total War's upcoming campaign multiplayer mode will launch next Monday, December 7, publisher Sega revealed today.

Open to all Empire: Total War (PC) owners, the beta will enable two players to "go head to head or cooperative against the AI on the full campaign map of Empire: Total War, including all 3 theaters of war." Released in March 2009, the historical strategy game suffered a one month delay so developer Creative Assembly could prepare the mode.

"After over 6 months of internal testing, we're happy to finally give all players of Empire: Total War a taste of the future of Total War," explained creative director Mike Simpson. "Information and user feedback gathered from this Open Beta should help us getting the Campaign Multiplayer mode ready to be a regular feature in upcoming titles in the Total War series."

The open beta will be distributed through Steam, with Sega noting that owners of the game can "sign up for the Beta Program on www.totalwar.com, though sign ups don't appear to be active at this time.

Also due Monday is another batch of downloadable content for the game, "Elite Units of the America," which will bring 15 new elite units to the American, British and French factions for $3.25. Creative Assembly is readying a standalone story-driven off-shoot of the strategy series, Napoleon: Total War, for release in February 2010.

I recently updated and now for some reason I can't move with WASD in the campaign mode, I tried toggling between the conventional and Total War button layout but when I'm in total war layout the arrow keys don't work. Other buttons like enter to end the turn works, and WASD works in the battle map, but on the campaign map I've been reduced to using the minimap to move around. Has anyone else had this problem?

It is a Total War game. So yes. Is there a demo? I can't remember.
