Sky News are projecting the results into a General Election as Labour winning 298 seats. With Lib Dems on 39. Reasonable to think that means a referendum on PR is the price for any deal.

Genuinely surprised by that 200-399 category taking a quarter of the vote. Quite pessimistic thinking.

I'm not sure pessimism about the way people will vote is entirely unfounded at this stage in our national meltdown.

Indeed and while I was old enough to vote in 2005, a lot of us will have voted in 4 GEs and a referendum and been on the losing side every time. No wonder we're pessimistic....

Wow, I switched off for a few hours, the results have gone from dire to abysmal for Tories. Over 1,000 seats lost is such a psychological barrier to cross, moral is going to be rock bottom and infighting is bound to start up again.

As far as gains go, I'm starting to think that LibDems and Green will be more excited than Labour. The losses for Tories are bad, but broadly in line with polling, but I think Labour have probably gained less from the Tory losses than they would have hoped. The other two parties will be ecstatic though.

The silly neighbourhood vegetable.

The candidate I've voted for has always won and become my MP.

But I've never voted for a winning party.

That's 6 times in a row.

4 councils left. -1055. If we get 14 more people losing their seats and I got it completely right I'm gonna lose it hahaha

But none of those had polling data with Labour's lead consistently way above the Tories like it has been for almost a year. There was reason for high hopes this time.

With the SNP self-destruction atm too, it's even more likely that Labour will win extra seats that wouldn't have been realistic 3 months ago.

Just going to point out that even when all the councils’ majorities have been determined, the seats count can still change.

I'm not saying it's pessimism based on logic. When you always lose its hard to believe the odds are truly on your side for once.

I think you can quite clearly claim the victory! Well done. Your prize is... 1,069 Tory MPs. Enjoy!

Tories have lost control of Bromsgrove council for the first time since 1999. AND my independent pick won her seat!

It's happening guys!
