Finally cleared the 2nd floor last night, only to die right away on floor 3 :(

Nearly every other attempt I have had end with me dying to the second boss :(

Played this for a bit last night. It's pretty damn good. I'm certainly enjoying it a hell of a lot more than Isacc.

I also have yet to progress past the second floor. The difficulty ramps up quite quickly.

Okay getting past the 2nd floor regularly, and had a trip to the 5th floor, seems that you need a lot of the passive items unlocks (at least I do) and it makes the game easier

Managed to get past the second one earlier on. I like that the bosses change order too. So far I've faced Ammoconda, Trigger Twins and Gatling Gull. Ammoconda was the easiest though I think that might have been down to using the Shotgun Full Of Love which made quick work of it.

Really enjoying this. I like that you don't lose the credits that you get, though I'm afraid to spend anything in the shop as I'll just lose it all when I die.

They are unlocks in the breach shop, not actual items you use then and there

Ah. So one of the things I'm offered is a Heart Bottle. Does that mean I get one more heart permanently, or is it just something I can now potentially find in the Gungeon?

The description of the shield:

A useful addition to any Gungoneer's arsenal when used in moderation. Shields are nice, but not if they engender passivity.

Really, really enjoying this.

Like the look of this, especially the co-op aspect. Anyone tried this with 2 players yet?

I actually prefer the single player. There's not a huge amount of item drops, so split between two people you hardly get anything. And the camera stretching can get really annoying.

After really getting into Flinthook I need to give this a proper go next (got it on Switch)

Does any of your progress save after you die?

Just the unlocks, there is also an elevator that lets you skip levels, once you unlock them, but since you (well at least I did) need as many upgrades as possible to finish it, it is not advisable

I may go back to this, I just much prefered BoI, now I have 100%ed that (again) this and Nuclear Throne both are a lot of fun, so I would recommend them (just BoI ahead of them both)

See I never really got into BoI as I found that not having any progression was offputting. Something like Flinthook where you save all the items you collect after you die plus level up with exp you earn is more satisfying

Tried it out last night, it immediately felt more forgiving. Not easier, still really tricky, but hopefully this will make it more fun.
