Epson Printer Help ???

I've got an Epson sx400. Its driving me crazy at the moment because its refusing to print a black and white document due to the Yellow ink being out :fp:

why the strawberry float would they design a printer like this. Any ideas how I can get it to work ? I'd rather strawberry float the banana split against a wall than buy a yellow cartridge to print a simple word doc :evil:

I'm afraid to my knowledge all printers will refuse to print if any cartridges are completely empty.

Every time you print anything, even just black and white, a miniscule amount of ink from every cartridge will be used. I don't know why exactly, but it's got something to do with preventing the print head mechanisms from clogging up.

Your printer will refuse to print if it cannot go through this process, so it does not damage itself.

Or something. That's basically the jist of it!

Buy ink cartridges on ebay if you only print office documents, 12 sets for 20 quid etc.

Its due to Epson being dicks.

Sometimes if you press the feed button on the printer it will print anyway. There might be a hack for the drivers to make them ignore the warning.

You could also go into the print settings and make sure its set to greyscale printing rather than colour.
