Thanks for the whisky suggestions, guys. Got a nice little list to try now. Although I treated myself to Civ VI in the Steam sale so I think that's my treat money spent now.

Drinking Badger Hopping Hare or some gooseberry fool and was nice to start with the mote I drink it the more it tastes like blood, smells piss-like too

ive had the opposite reaction with this love PINTA Hoplaaga from Poland started out ok and has got better and better with each sip

That is why i avoid beers in clear glass.

Beer doesn't like UV light, dark bottles filter it out protecting the beer, clear glass let's it pass through which can then strawberry float up the beer making it go all disgusting.

Just trying my first ever craft beer - Brewdog 5am saint American Red Ale. No idea if this is a good place to start.

A pretty reasonable one, it's not got a massively stong flavour and if you are used to more traditional ales as it is a hyped up red ale so have a normal base to it unlike say an American IPA that is all about massive flavours ans bitterness

I see it has a star system for ratings. TBH I can't give any a star rating as some I had like 4 weeks ago. I can't remember how much I liked them, only that I did.

Fasir enough don't worry too much like but it can be handy, its also interesting to see who's you gave something last time to see how your tastes change over time.

A friend brought me back a travel-size selection box of Talisker whiskys when he was on a trip to the Isle of Skye. The box contains:

Talisker 10
Talisker Syke
Talisker Storm

So, are these any good? I’m only just venturing into whisky world and haven’t decided if I even like it or not (found Johnnie Walker black label undrinkable, for example).

I can't work out if I like it or not either, I have a bottle of Highland Park at home and have had it a few times and there is something in the flavour I like but it also seems to overwhelm me with alcohol taste that I don't know.
I suspect it is just a development thing that I need to keep at it to learn to sip it right and get used to the high ABV

im not a fan of most whisky (too peaty/smoky) but bourbon is
