A reminder that if you think you’re going to want a Perfect Draft machine when it gets hot later in the year, now is the time to buy. They’re desperate for sales at this time of year, so the discounts are huge. Come the summer demand, they’ll probably be full price.

Even with the discount those look expensive. What does one of those offer over just getting some cans/bottles out of the fridge?

Freshness and taste are the main benefits. Plus the selection - things you can’t get in bottles/cans, and the ability to dispense how much you want to drink. And it chills to 3 degrees, which is lower than people tend to have their fridges set.

But yeah, it’s not cheap.

Had a re-jig of the drinking order of my kegs recently.

Generally try and do them in Best Before Date order but had a few Winter type kegs (Leffe Blanche, Camden Marsden & Franziskaner Royal) that I wanted to drink before it starts getting warmer.

Started with the Leffe Blanche. Nice. Been a while since I had an Erdinger but it seems pretty similar to that.

I’m down to my last couple of Spaten Oktoberfest kegs and a Vocation Life & Death, so I’ve just used the latest 20% off code to pick up some of my new favourites from the last year - the Ninkasi Flower lager (sweet, odd, but nice) and Franziskaner Kellerbier, which I really enjoyed.

Spaten Oktober was my last keg. It was good but (I think you felt the opposite?) I thought the Lowenbrau was better. Could be because, it was my first time so had no expectations and the Lowenbrau blew me away and maybe created unreasonable expectations.

Not bought a Ninkasi. You make it sound like a stronger Innis & Gunn, which I love.

Got a Kellerbier, its a lager isn't it?

Yeah, but a cloudy, substantial one. Good for winter. I saw one review that I think nailed it: Like drinking liquid bread!

And I did prefer the Spaten to the Lowenbrau, but I’d had a lot of regular Lowenbrau over the summer and was maybe a little tired of it.

Sounds like I need to move that up the pecking order then.

Anyone had the opportunity to try Birra Moretti Sale di Mare yet?

It's another unfiltered beer, but the difference with this one is that they've added Italian salt to it.
