At least it's not being called Alsterwasser like in Northern Germany, which is a pretty dopey name.

It’s Oktoberfest time! Got three kegs of Spaten last week, and just ordered three Lowenbrau now they’re back in stock. Two years ago the Lowenbrau was my favourite, but last year I thought the Spaten was better. But they’ve all been great. Also got three Vocation Life & Death stockpiled.

I hadn't bought too much in the first half of the year, most non-lager kegs were sold out for quite a while, and was down to about 2/3 kegs so was planning on trying the Ocktoberfest kegs this year.

I then had a 4 week spell where I ordered something every week.
- They did a Spaten pack with glasses which I'm a sucker for.
- They did a Wimbledon, I think, deal that included the Goose IPA so got that
- Got the new Leffe Blanche (no point ordering just one keg due to postage reasons)
- Innis & Gunn and Life & Death came back into stock so ordered them

So am back up to about a 7 keg "backlog" now, and again, not sure whether I'll get them this year.

That said, I've got 6 kegs to send back now and will have a bit of credit so might get one of each when they next get stock.

Had the Lost Lager recently which I enjoyed.

Franziskaner is absolutely lovely from a keg.

I loved this year’s Spaten Oktoberfest, so ended up ordering nine kegs before they went out of stock. I’d like to try that Camden Marzen, but have too many kegs for now.

Finally managed to get my backlog of empties collected though. The Yodel guy was delighted at having to make room for 54 kegs in 18 boxes.

Gluhwein season is almost upon us.

I do like a bit of piping hot gluhwein, unlike gazpacho soup, it's best served hot.

I've never had Franziskaner. Heard lots of good things about it. Also got a keg of the Kellierbier.

I got the Oktoberfest kegs this year. Not had the Spaten yet but the Lowenbrau one - wow!

You must have some credit now. Don't think I've ever sent back more than 6 at a time.

In Bruges I had a bottle of mongozo banana flavour beer, it was weird, yet very pleasant.

It paid for all the Spaten, plus some kegs of Life & Death! Been trying to return the empties since last summer, but every time I booked they either didn’t turn up or said they didn’t have room.

Love a bit of that, but only if outside. It doesn’t taste the same if you’re not freezing cold.

Its always been fine for me. They'll probably make sure they can come sooner/turn up if they now realise what'll end up happening if they don't!

Haha, I’m booking them every time I’ve got two boxes full now, so they’ve got no excuses!

Just ordered a couple of kegs of Mahou. Released as part of the Perfect Draft Black November, it's only the first day - think it's going to be an expensive week.

I gave Thatchers Apple and Blackcurrant cider a try this past weekend and it’s really nice

Pro tip: Just stick some cheap vodka in a mug of hot Vimto.

So far this year, I have eaten NO mince pies.

Also works with Bovril, for boozy beefiness.
