I'm drinking that Rekorderlig Wild Berry at the moment. It's very sweet, I don't think I could drink a lot of it, but it's quite refreshing.

I can't stand the sweetness of those things. It also pisses me off they are allowed to be called cider when they have not massive apple contents.

Walked down to one of our local pubs tonight for the first time, tried the Green King West Coast IPA. S'alright but this tastes more like what I thought IPA was, very little carbonation and very smooth with an almost thick consistency similar to Guinness. I'd have it again but they also have a Belhaven Pilsner which I'd like to try.

Back home and trying a Beavertown Lupuloid IPA. Very nice.

Beer52 box arrived on Friday. Annoying that they need a signature as it meant they just tried delivering it each day when I was out at work for about 4 days.

Haven't had any yet but looking forward to them. I really want one of those 2/3 beer glasses but only ever see them in packs of 4 when I just need one. Also excited by the hot wing crisps :slol:

(I will also cancel my subscription now :shifty: , but excited all the same).

Those crisps were strawberry floating excellent. :datass:

Got my Beer52 box yesterday. Haven't even tried 1 yet.

The mocha porter can is the one I'm most intrigued by followed by the stout can. Of the bottles, the tangerine dream is the one that sounds best.

For ale fans it worth a look it's a festival of winter beer so it s all 5% and up

Is 1st and 2nd of Feb.

Been getting stuck into the 'extreme' cocktails at Harry's Bar in Tenerife for the last week. Essentially just normal cocktails but with Red Bull added. I've never felt any effect from RB previously but these things make me SO happy it's unreal (I'm a miserable, cynical 42-year old by default). I've taken photos of the menu so I can try and replicate them back in the UK, at least until Brexit strikes and I can't afford the water to wash the glasses.

I had an odd can of beer today. The ring pull opened up the entire top of the can and it made a hell of a bang when I opened it. It honestly sounded like a weak firework going off.

Was quite tasty though!

Love those sorts of cans, they pour so much cleaner than a normal can and you just a really good fire hit of aroma from them.

Also hazy days is lovely stuff.

Oh it was nice, it just didn’t need to sound like a nuclear bomb when opened. ;)

It's better to compare it to wine given the alcohol percentage. No one orders a pint of wine.

A 12% strength beer seems excessive though, 4%-5.5% is the ideal alcoholic percentage.

I do want to try it in the 1/3 pint size. I generally like Stouts/Porters, Guiness is my favourite beer and I've yet to find a Stout I've enjoyed more than it.

I also forgot to cancel my Beer52 order so my friend ended up getting a box for free. Those crisps in box are amazing though. Much better than normal Walkers.

There is no ideal %it's all about balance, if there are massive flavours either dark malt coffee and chocolate or bitter and hops etc. Then you need a high abv to balance it if it is too strong flavour and low abv it just takes horrid as there nothing backing up the flavour.

Generally speaking the stronger the abv the more full and powerful the flavour and usually the better the beer.
