I like the west indies one, of the 4 brewer project beers it is by far the best one.

Drinking Beavertown Quelle (4.1%), Bought from Clapton Craft NW5

I'm not a big fan, I always find it to be a bit meh and pretty always over priced. Plus it is made by Coors I believe so that's another downer for me :D

Guys I'm on an ale trail next weekend any ales you can recommend?

It's in Yorkshire starting in Stalybridge and I'll be on the lookout for some good ale.

Wouldn't really let the company that makes something bother me although I do agree with the over pricing. Seems to be the thing nowadays to overprice "craft beers".

If the beer is good then I dont mind, like Guiness foreign extra etc.

The problem I have with Blue Moon as people treat it like it is awesome when it really isn't and it cost way over the odds because it is apparently "craft" but it is made on the cheap and so has a huuuuge mark up.

Craft should be a protected term relating the brew process or something as I really dont like big companies making a so so beer and because they have the budget to market the thing and make people see it as something it isn't.

Agree with most of that , companies are always gonna latch onto something that's gonna make them profit or buy out the smaller companies for there products happens in all industries but I'm a bit fed up with these new so called craft brewers putting a big price on there beers (this seems to be the hip thing). But don't get me wrong it's nice to have a decent variety and it is progression. As for all beers some will like it some won't.

It isn't just they are putting a higher price on them, the beers genuinely cost a lot lot more to make.

Take Punk IPA it has 6 different hops in it (Chinook, Ahtanum, Amarillo, Cascade, Simcoe, Nelson Sauvin) in big quantities to get the big flavours, and it isn't something you can cut a corner on a keep quality. They cost more because it costs masses more to make them, and many brewers are making in smaller batches which again makes it more costly. THey dont have the distribution of the big companies so everything is more expensive it isn't a hip thing it is just more expensive to brew it and ship it.

Had a charity beer show up I had forgotten I had bought.

Its a fairly nice lager, really clean and simple. It is made by BrewDog at cost for BrewGooder and all profits are going to provide water and such like to people in need around the world.

Drinking a Black Perle (3.8%) by Weird Beard Brew Co

Lighter than most stouts, but a nice blend of coffee and cocoa.

This thread should be locked up until Errkal agrees to review Taedonggang beer.

Rumour has it the Dear Leader invented beer at the top of the mountain he was born on.

I had a local cider at the weekend - Silly Moo Cowfold Cider. Tasted nice and was good to support a local farm.

By more and more mental you actually mean happier, more optimistic, more like a paradise with great civilisation? Stop being a heinous follower of the (soon to be smashed) US. :x

As a cider drinker for many years I just grew bored of it and the indigestion it inevitably wreaks around Christmas last year and have spent the majority of this trying different beers. I like the 4 for £6 mix and match offer in Tesco as I can sample a few different beers without breaking the bank. Out of what I've tried this year and there are too many to list I'd say my favourites are Blandford Flyer from Badger which is brewed with ginger and I love owt with ginger in it, Hobgoblin and Shipyard American IPA.

They frequently have Greene King and Old Speckled Hen on offer so if I'm just looking to get drunk that's what I tend to go for but I did go through a Brewdog headliners case as a bit of a treat this past weekend too which was really good.
