Well excuuuuuse me, princess! ;)

I’m still new to the whole beer world so I’m trying anything I haven’t had before and seeing what I like/don’t like, and I liked the banana beer. Big fan of banana bread IRL though so that probably helps.

A mate of mine loves the stuff but yeah not for me. It does seem to be very popular.

Couldn't drink that Shwmae but was not very nice, but the golden ale is nice, it's called Afon Aur. Is there a thread about larger(as in the drink Larger) beer and stuff, I'd rather post there and have Errkal yell at me.

Never heard of either will look out for them.

Not suprised you aren't a big porter fan it's a massive leap from lager and red ale.

Golden ales are a good one, there is a golden version of speckled hen called golden hen you may like, I'm not a massive fan as I avoid any beer in clear glass bottles but it's a good starter.

They are brewed in a local area, so may be why you've not heard of them.

Just had Old Speckled Hen and am now trying Doom Bar. Both nice. Doom Bar is nicer though. It's like really smooth and tasty.

Doombar :dread:

Nice work on trying new thing and stuff but I hate doombar it is just so damn boring a beer. It's like water, it exists, it isn't offensive but it isn't exactly exciting.

I like it, I find it rather flavoursome and it doesn't have the weird aftertaste that most other drinks I have tried so far have.

These are what I have tried and they have a yay and nay.

Elvis jiuie - Nay
Butty Bach - Yay
Black Sheep Ale - Yay
Shwmae But - Nay
Afon Aur - Yay
The Speckled Hen - Yay
Doom Bar - Yay

Fair enough, as long as you like it that's the main thing. I think I've gone too far down the craft beer path that now "normal" ales can seem dull and lacking.

Whilst Pedz is tucking away a Doombar, I'm supping on a Spitfire. I like it!

That's a step too far, anything made by Shepards Neame should be tipped down the drain.

Horrible stuff, pretty much anything from Kent is gooseberry fool.

I think I have something from Shepards in the fridge. I basically say to the missus while she does the shopping to buy me 4 different drinks I haven't tried.

A good way of doing it, you may like them I find Kentish beer has an aftertaste that I just can't stand.

Tried Shipyard American IPA. It's ok, but again, odd aftertaste.

Gonna try Old Peculiar the legendary Ale in a minute.

Old peculiar is quite a leap, strong and dark.

Does Henry Weston's strawberry float everyone up or is it just me? I have full black outs on the stuff and it really screws me.

Currently enjoying some Leffe Blond. Yum!

Henry Westerns would be my go to pre-drink in uni. 3 of them 8.2% bad boys and I was well and truly on my way.
