I'm sure established and successful coach Vicente del Bosque knows what he was doing and doesn't need advice from you.

Germany were the marginal favourites going into the tournament with most bookies.

I couldn't see anyone winning but Spain, from start. I thought if any team would come close it would be Germany.

Did you say this at the start or were you being overly cautious?

Shockingly, Spain winning the Euros doesn't mean I'm not allowed to criticise Del Bosque.

Yes, at the start

And in fairness, this Spain side looked very solid at the back. So, I guess he does deserve a pat on the back for the defensive structure he implemented this tournament. :P

There's a difference between criticism and nonsense.

What do we think the sentiment towards Spain would be if they'd been knocked out after penalties against Portugal?

That they should have played like they did during extra time, in normal time.

I ended up being free to watch the game last night, but just couldn't be arsed. Sounded a bit one-sided.

Anyway, great tournament in terms of the group stages, pretty dull after that. The QFs were horrendous, and the SFs weren't much better. Not bad though overall.

His shirt was too small so Biscuits and Iker were helping him pull it on before the game when Jose Mourinho threw a ball at the Croatian's face. Honestly, some people just stir things up.

The goal also appears to be collapsing.

The goal is collapsing so Busquets is trying to protect himself by using a less talented footballer as a human shield.

It feels like I've been complaining about Spain being boring for years now but they were brilliant yesterday and fully deserved their victory. They've still got plenty of young players too so who's going to beat them at the World Cup?

How unbearable was the smugness of the pundits and commentators last night when questioning the fact that purple gave been saying Spain have been boring? Saying gooseberry fool like "and people think they're boring!", in a sarcastic tone to imply that they were right all along. Just because they were good to watch last night doesn't rewrite history into a form where Spain were actually good to watch in their previous games or make people suddenly, see the error if their ways, you strawberry floating intolerable banana splits.

Spain were amazing last night.
I agree with the annoyance at the commentators, as I did find them boring for the rest of the tournament

All credit to Spain last night - they answered their critics. They WERE boring for most of the tournament, but the final really made up for it. Its just a shame Italy had Motta off otherwise it could've been a really spectacular finale.

Y'know, just because you put it in caps and post it often, doesn't make it true. I'm bored of people talking about whether they were boring or not.

There were so many times the commentators during this tournament based on absolutely nothing and to make themelves sound clever but doing it in a way where they really aren't saying anything. They'll be talking about a foul or something and then say 'well so and so is one of the most resilient defenders in the game' or something along those lines. Firstly - thats bullshit you've just made up! Secondly that doesn't mean anything! It happened so many times!
