The problem with Arsenal is that they always try and walk it in.

Bit of a thrashing for Italy but a deserved win for Spain. Next up, World Cup :)

Yeah and what was Wenger thinking, sending Walcott on that early?

What? They were. Also works grammatically, if that's what you're laughing at.

No it doesn't, you can't use the word superlative as a superlative. It's like saying Italy were adjective instead of saying good or bad or something like that.

Anyway, time to verb my dinner.

As I said before, that's explaining what a superlative is. In no.1's case it's referring to absolute superlatives such as sublime, brilliant, incredible, amazing etc.

I know what a superlative is, but I've linked to superlative the adjective, you're defining it as a noun. There's loads of examples in literature of using superlative like Alan Hansen used it, for example in this extract from a book on Piccadilly mansions in London, 1878:

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

Was the game actually good? I missed it so I'm deciding on either watching just the highlights or the whole thing

Wow this thread. Why do arguments always involve the same people yet they still come back to this forum. Repeat offenders should be perma banned

At least watch the first half. Early in the second Italy went down to ten due to an injury and that killed it really.

Spain's best game of the tournament. I am sure the highlights will show you everything you need to see

Spain played brilliantly and what a time to do it. Italy going down to 10 men (due to subs, not sending off) didn't help their cause, but cannot take it away from Spain, oh and Torres flicked pass for Matta

Glad to see Prandelli hoping to stay on as manager. Didn't really do much wrong and has a good set up to make this Italy team better for the WC. Obviously 4-0 in a final looks bad, but after the injury it could have been 10-0.

Was also good seeing Balotelli care about playing for a football team.

Del Bosque has to go down as one of the greatest coaches in history now. Who else has won the Champions League, the Euros and the World Cup?

Still not a fan of Del Bosque. Spain are successful now because of the strength of their squad, not because of Del Bosque's coaching ability. I think he limits them by playing Biscuits and Alonso together; drop Biscuits, and I think Spain would win even more comfortably. Aragonés should be given more credit for kickstarting this whole Spanish footballing revolution.

Or you could drop Alonso as that would make way more sense.

Wow. Spain were absolutely incredible yesterday. Incredible to watch, and I haven't been their biggest fan during the tournament (just because they haven't played Torres enough :P ). Have to be the best team ever, surely? That ball for Alba was incredible.

Also, Torres wins the Golden Boot :datass:
