Eurogamer has officially launched Megaton.co.uk, a new website aimed at videogame consumers aged between 8 and 12 years old.

The site is a collaboration with Skyjack Publishing which produces a monthly Megaton magazine, and intends to cater to a market under-served by current videogame sites.

"There's a massive gap in the market for our audience and the industry," said Cat Channon, Megaton.co.uk's publisher.

"While many sites appeal to children and some cover games, no one is dedicated to making videogame content appealing. We've gone to great lengths to research this site and worked with the most experienced and knowledgeable people in the children's online space to ensure what we're producing works for our audience."

As well as licensed material, Megaton.co.uk features original content, competition, activities and online games to play.

"The games industry has been asking for dedicated children's media for years and we're thrilled to be able to fill this niche," said Rupert Loman, managing director of the Eurogamer Network.

"The site content is looking great already and the strength of the draw for children will only increase as more games are released and content builds."

Isn't HoC involved with this? I remember a thread about the mag not too long ago.

EDIT: Beaten to the reminder, cheers Sarge.

It's worth a second thread, if it means we get such insightful comment from Fishfingers.

To be fair, the intricacies of Team Fortress can be quite a confusing game to a newcomer.

Venom wrote:Say what you want but if this Halo TV series is a BIG BUDGET Game of Thrones style series with Spielberg directly producing this could be a Band of Brothers in space.
