We had our annual Eurovision party day (not so much a “party” with only two of us) a bbq earlier, We (the UK) should have got more points but failing that I was hoping Germany would have won, I also liked Lithuania’s entry, I was hoping to go next year but don’t really fancy going to Israel

Knew Israel would win. Gonna be interesting to see where it is held.

This is the dude that invaded

How was this guy even allowed within 5 miles of the event?

Who cares? It was a great show.

Brilliant!

Anyhow, Israel was a worthy winner, brilliantly bonkers and surprisingly catchy once you've heard it a couple of times. SuRie did a great performance given the circumstances and i can see why she declined the chance to perform again. That said though, as a result of the stage invasion, she won't be short on offers from Channel 5 to appear on their series of 'when things go wrong' shows.

Had Sweden, Israel and Ireland as my picks so a pretty good run. The song choices this year though.... too much ballad shite across the board and not enough camp.

I dunno, I found it a bit uncomfortable, especially when Eurovision always tends to be about countries celebrating their own culture that the song that won just ripped off someone else's culture and won. It's basically saying that yellowface (an awful term in itself) is acceptable.

We deserved a lot better than 24th, too. Glad I didn't bother staying up for the voting.

Like every year, couple of good songs, but the voting in no way actually reflects the quality of the entries.

Israel winning  Shite act and a shite song with some questionable choices that people are just ignoring because it was banta, easily one of the worst I've seen since I properly started watching Eurovision.

Shame the UK act didn't perform again but I don't think she really had anything to prove after that since she handled it really well. When was the last time the UK actually did well points wise? :dread:

Didn't think the show was as good as last years or the year before. There wasn't really a standout good song for me, but I did like the meal group from Hungary doing those Dragonball poses

Stupid Eurovision, be more funny :|

Watched this when we got in last night so we were able to fast forward the gooseberry fool, of which there was a lot. Only about 2 acts made me laugh, the rest was just overly serious ballad bollocks.

As I'd not seen any of the acts prior, I thought annie lennox was actually pretty good. Shame about Kanye West showing up, that could have easily been someone getting stabbed or something there. Really felt for her when she was on 0 points for ages and didn't deserve to be sat 4th from last with some of the utter guff that was on display.

Apparently the UK is one of the "big five" funders of the Eurovision contest. These funders qualify for the final without having to participate in the semi-final stage.

This is correct but clearly we deserve a rebate as the points are not distributed evenly and clearly focused on the lesser established nations.

I mean this just isn't true.

The reason we didn't do very well last night was because our song wasn't really any good.

I'd take it over any of the other acts near the top.

My actual favourites were Slovenia.
