I'm a massive Prodigy fan and this is easily their worst album. I've listened to it several times too. It has far too many 'samey' tracks that have a tune, alternate some old school synth, drop the beat then back to the start before they end. They also have one of the worst tracks in 'Champions of London' which not only is terrible but will obviously be co-opted but Chelsea/Spurs/Arsenal fans when they win something, its excruciatingly vapid.

It's all bombast and no nuance, it was made with live shows in mind and while they may be crowd pleaser's on stage, on an album they just meld together into one big unrelenting mess which has no direction other than rinse and repeat repetitive churning of beats and faux grunge.

The Prodigy used to set the tone, forward techno and dance music as a whole, with the last 2 albums and especially with this one, Liam has lost focus and has reverted to oblivious meandering soul-less drivel.

I'm devastated tbh, they seem to be moving away from why I loved them in the first place. It's as far away from Jilted Generation and Fat of the Land you can get.

Didn't know there was a new one.

I'm not expecting anything as good as Music for the Jilted Generation or Fat of the Land but I'll give it a chance.

It's top five easily. Don't think I could actually call a favourite Nirvana song in all honesty.

gooseberry fool, erm...

Drain You
Dumb
Lounge Act (yes really)
On A Plain
All Apologies

That could change pretty easily on any given day though, and I'm not including anything that's covered on Unplugged... out of fairness.

Are you named Photek after the one who did Modus Operandi?

If so I understand why you'd not like this new Prodigy.

As The Prodigy's best album was their first one, Experience.

Yep one and the same. I was a Prodigy fan way before Photek, you can like both yaknow. Experience is great but the Jilted Generation is when they peaked, Fat of the Land is awesome too though.

I liked Always outnumbered never outgunned and Invaders must die too but The Day is my Enemy had a few awful tracks in it, Ibiza is absolutely TERRIBLE and this last album bar the first track Need Someone is their worst offering, it's like they phoned it in tbh.

From an Electronic music point of view I am a massive fan of (in no paticular order):
Orbital
Photek
The Prodigy
Chemical Brothers
Moby
Royksopp
Leftfield
Basement Jaxx
David Holmes
Massive Attack
Groove Armada
Lamb
Lemon Jelly
Aphex twin

The Chemical Brothers more recent albums haven't been the best either, nor Lambs, Leftfields or Moby.

Ah so you’re a big fan of 90s electronica then.

No I know, i like them both too, but i think Experience is the best because it’s an entire album of really quality 92 hardcore. My fave Photek track is his remix of Loose - Therapy?

The Prodigy now just make EDM bullshit, although it’s not as bad as other EDM bullshit.

Not much of a Nirvana fan, but I love this. Especially the end.

Need to see them live again.
