I watched the show last night and it was brilliant. The style of filming and gore was spot on, it had some very funny moments and was really good fun. It certainly carries on the Army of Darkness style of comedy, action and gore so if you were a fan of the films you'll really like this.

Just watched the first episode and it was excellent. Totally nailed the tone and goofballness of The Evil Dead 2. I'm assuming that the third movie is being ignored in this timeline?

Best to think of it as another timeline entirely, I think. Bear in mind the ending of Evil Dead 2 STILL ends with Ash being sucked into the past. There was evidently a "cabin event" in this Ash's past, but aside from a few movie clips, we don't know exactly what happened to him then. Just that he's spent thirty years afterwards hanging around bars making up stories about how he lost his hand.

Personally I'm pretending it's a sequel to Evil Dead The Musical. :slol:

Haven't seen any of the films but I've really been enjoying this. The dinner scene in Ep 2 was amazing.

2nd episode didn't have quite the flair of the first ep, which is to be expected since Raimi only directed the pilot. Still great fun, though. That dinner scene was fantastic.

Episode 6 was amazing  So many hilarious kills and OTT gore. MOAR please!

I wish they would do something more with Lucy Lawless, she seems to stick around for about 1 minute each episode.

That encounter is season finale material.

Best episode of the season this weekend? Goddamn, that was rollicking. And the music choices continue to amaze, too.

Yeah, I really enjoyed this week's. The pacing's been a bit squiffy in parts of the season and I'd have loved a bit more development of Amanda's character before she kicked it, but it was still an emotional moment that packed enough weight to move on to the battle with Evil Ash. Pretty obvious "which one's the real Ash" set up coming up with that cliffhanger ending, but I'm looking forward to the final two episodes now!

Watched the final 2 episodes back to back just now. Absolutely strawberry floating brilliant! The poor Australian girl. And then the demon child :dread: Reminded me of Silent Hill Shattered Memories.

Great setup for season 2. Now the MASSIVE wait until November or whenever it's back.
