If anyone loved Dungeon Keeper 1 and 2 or Startopia, I know they'll love Evil Genius. You don't have direct control over minions, but you make your lair, trap secret agents, steal money from over the world, and execute civilians that accidentally wander into your lair :D You even get to recruit super henchmen to protect your Evil Genius.

I don't know how to embed videos so someone embed it for me and I'll edit more videos into the first post. Also there's always cool music playing throughout the game so don't think the game is as dry as the trailer makes it out to be.

It requires some modding in the background (mainly to massively bump up minion numbers) to make it a proper game.

The most fun was always make the extremely long corridor of traps for those silly "goodies" trying to infiltrate the base.

All mods there. The game isn't broken without mods and is great fun even without any mods. But here's the mods anyway to increase the fun.

This was the first game I ever worked on (back then as a lowly games tester). Such memories. It was the second game ever to use the infamous Infinite Polygon Engine™. Of course, Elixir Studios went down soon after, so no game has used it since :(

Worth a splash for such a bargain price.

I think I've actually still got a disk-based version someplace that I've never played.

I bought it as a xmas present for my brother last year. Seemed pretty good but all my servants kept dying whenever I sent them on missions and it took ages to replace them.

Safety in numbers Mori. You can't send one servant to do a big task and expect him to survive and have a successful mission. Should have trained your minions and sent them off together to do the mission as a a squad if you didn't want them to die on a suicide mission.

What a strawberry floating coincidence?!

I was just thinking about this game earlier today and how I liked the demo but never ever bought the full game.

You should have trained your basic minions and sent your henchmen along with your trained minions as well

I did but every loss hurt. Replacing dead troops was really annoying too.

You know you could increase the rate in which workers were hired, at the cost of money? Then you could make your Evil Genius point at a piece of training equipment and people would be quickly trained there.

Maybe I'll play the game again.

The only thing I couldn't get the hang of was the traps system  Which is what everyone else got to grips with first and liked. I actually kept playing the game without even touching the traps, I couldn't be bothered to figure out the placement as I couldn't tell what the hell was going on with the traps.

I killed shitloads of agents though......I had to keep increasing the size of my freezer every now and then.

What the the specs needed to play this? Can't be high surely? Hopefully my PC will run it, I wouldn't mind giving it a go. I'm really in the mood for this kind of game right now.

I'm in the mood to play it too, I just bought it a few minutes ago.

Edit: goddamn, I leave tabs open too long.

I didn't use the traps either which is strange as I used them all the time in Dungeon Keeper 2.
