Evolve: MP 4 vs 1 F/TPS - Out now on PC, PS4 and XB1 - Now F2P on PC

It's actually easier to learn the game online than offline right now, because people are new to it (so they're not very good).

There's a new Nvidia driver Cal for Evolve, might of been released yesterday I can't remember but I've installed it but don't own Evolve so can't comment on performance improvements.

Been bought this as a suprise for ps4, know next to nothing about it but hopefully its on par with left for dead if it's that sort of game :datass:

Well the intro isn't. It isn't gooseberry fool but the L4D intro is leagues ahead.

Well predictably I'm terrible at this :fp:

Got the monster down to the last few hits of health but thanks to the stupid AI, none of them even tried to revive me and the whole team died. Will play with real people from now on I think.

Anyone got any tips for actually keeping track of the monster when you're fighting it? With all the explosions and effects going off I can barely see it, let alone spot where it's jumping to.

Your trapper (best beginner class, btw) should contain it within the mobile arena and harpoon it to the spot, while your medic (worst beginner class) should be tagging it with weak spots or slowing it with tranquilizers, limiting its movement and causing it to glow yellow.

The only class I seem to be able to get on at all with at the moment is the support, everything else just ends up with me dead and not getting any hits in.

Once the brown monster starts spamming attacks and jumps around in the brown environment I lose sight of it straight away

Watching a stream right now and I think it looks good. I bet it's absolutely wicked in co-op.

It's excellent with friends as hunters, or solo as the monster.

You're the only one on my friends list who has this Jiggles.

Well, I'd be up for a game whenever, but I also have the PC version now, and that'll be my preferred place to play it.

That'd be good, I can see me having Nobody to play this with soon :dread:

Couldn't you have just switched to another player via your D-pad and revived yourself..? (assuming you were playing with all AI team-mates in Solo mode)

Took a chance on this today..... I've unlocked all monsters and enjoying it so far. Shame there is no true story mode but what is here is enjoyable. Needs more monsters though, 6 would have been fine but 3 and 1 DLC isn't great.

Not tried much hunter stuff. It will give it a go in time.

So far all monsters are a joy to play as.

Still, I'm trying to do a full round as each character to get some points on the board.

Face-Off: Evolve -

It's a decent multi-platform project too, with Xbox One's 900p presentation holding up well against the native 1080p image of the PS4 game. However, the poorer quality filtering and slightly slower streaming doesn't always show the PS4 version of Evolve in the best light - but thankfully, in the darker environments these issues don't distract from the quality of the gameplay on offer. On the whole, both console versions are worthy of consideration and play identically for the most part. Making a firm recommendation on which to buy is a little challenging: the PS4's 1080p resolution gives it a slightly more refined experience, and performance is a little more stable too. However, this is an online-focused title and the backing infrastructure here doesn't seem quite as robust as it is on Xbox One and PC.

Overall, it's the PC version that potentially offers the best experience. There's the ability to scale beyond the 30fps cap found on console, with extra image quality and resolution options too. However, getting a good, consistent level of performance requires capable hardware, adroit settings management - or both in concert, depending on your system. Get it sorted though and the results can be quite beautiful - and certainly in a fast-paced shooter, 60fps gameplay trumps the console-standard 30fps experience.

Been playing a lot of this. Much prefer the monsters to hunters. But playing solo I kinda knew that would be the case.

Watched a lot of guides and early stealth and misdirection are the keys to success. Can't decide on my favourite monster but the kraken is my most played. Monster 4 looks awesome too.

Hope they continue to bring in new monsters as it's a very well crafted and perfectly balanced game.

Man, Wraith is a tough opponent. So many tricks. Really needs the third support's dust or it's just too difficult to find the strawberry floater.

I played my first Monster round on PC tonight and won it. There's really nothing like it. Knowing 4 other players are all out for you and you got the better of them. Buzzing.

I'm not a big fan of online gaming but this does look interesting. How is this in single player? If i enjoyed playing Left 4 Dead in single player would I enjoy this?
