One Blizzard employee... saw what was coming, and got his pre-emptive revenge by redeeming all his company benefit subscription codes at once, so he can play World Of Warcraft for free until 2033.

The now former product lead for Core Technology at Blizzard, Adam Holisky, had the nous to get a little extra on top of his severance package, he revealed on Twitter:

"Once I realised what was happening and that I was gonna be laid off, I made sure to jump into keyring and use all the 1-year subscription codes I have left.

Free game time is a well known employee benefit, I just never used all the codes I got over the years. It’s nothing sketchy or immoral)
", he said.

Holisky added an image with the tweet that shows that the expiration date for his subscription to World Of Warcraft: Dragonflight is 2033, and people loved it.

Hehe, I love this. It's only a little thing, of course, as the guy lost his job - but it perhaps stands as a wee win amongst big business actions!

“Clever Blizzard dev gets revenge on Microsoft just before being fired.”

I’m not sure it’s either clever or getting revenge, to redeem a bunch of free codes you’ve been given over the years and never bothered to use.

Probably not clever to boast about it on Twitter either incase someone decides to cancel his sub....

About as disruptive as using all your annual leave before you get paid off.

Less disruptive, even.

They're not losing money, here. The dude would not have bought 10 years of Wow. Hell I doubt he's even going to use the sub at all. Taking your annual leave during your notice period means the company is a body down.

I'm disappointed that some of the people posting in this thread are not applauding this gentleman for getting our collective revenge against the corporate overlords. Maybe he didn't go so far as to murder Bobby Kotick but, at the very least, his brave actions have undoubtedly rattled a few of the Microsoft/Blizzard management and perhaps now we'll see the end of mass layoffs for good.

My dream when I leave employment is to finally activate some promo codes for some old games :datass:

It's pretty much number 2 on the fantasy lottery win scenario.

1. Quit your job
2. Activate an old humble bundle
3. Go on holiday forever
