New Multiplayer modes, these will feature new character models along with the new weapons and vehicles from The Lost and Damned.

One new game type called Witness Protection has you play on two teams: The Lost gang and a set N.O.O.S.E. officers. The N.O.O.S.E. have to deliver three witnesses to the police station while The Lost have to kill the witnesses.

Another mode called Own the City is like a gang territory war. Each team tries to obtain as much territory as possible, and a group of NPC's will try to protect your land when you're out getting some more.

The new racing mode is similar to the classic game Road Rash: you are to travel through checkpoints atop a motorcycle while beating down your opponents with a baseball bat.

The Lone Wolf Biker mode is similar to an "oddball" mode, where one player is the Lone Wolf and it's everybody else's job to kill him. The Lone Wolf that lasts the longest wins.

Another mode called Chopper vs. Chopper is played by two people: one on a motorcycle and the other in a helicopter. The motorcycle rider's task is to reach checkpoints throughout the city while the helicopter pilot's job is to kill the motorcycle rider!

The last mode titled Club Business will feature every member of The Lost, and the gang will be given random tasks to complete throughout the city.

Liberty Rock Radio 97.8 is getting a slew of new songs and DJ Iggy Pop will be returning to the stand.

Turning GTA into a zombie outbreak = win. I so hope the rumours turnout to be true about this one

In an interview with Variety, Houser was asked whether the DLC will be here by the end of 2008. He replied, "I'm not sure. It's going well, but we don't know a date.

"We hope to be announcing that in the next few weeks," Houser continued. "We're still figuring out a few things. We're more focused on quality than dates, always have been. But the development is going really good. It's shaping up to be something we're very proud of. That was our goal."

Don't get too excited, though - Rockstar wouldn't want you to be disappointed when the DLC finally gets here.

"We want to give people a rough idea so their expectations are roughly in line," said Houser. "We don't want them to imagine it's this enormous thing that it can never be."

It's new territory, the Rockstar bossman went on to explain, and not just for Rockstar. "No one ever game out with major DLC for a major game like this before... We're making it up a little bit as we go along."

Microsoft can't be happy to learn the DLC might not be out until 2009. Back in September the company was promising it would be available "this autumn", and that Xbox 360 would be "the only console with new Grand Theft Auto IV content available this Christmas". Wonder if they kept that receipt.

Exclusive, eh? More like Elusive.

Will anyone actually care by the time this thing comes out?

This was one of the factors that made me choose the 360 over the PS3. Don't let me down Rockstar.

Having not heard anything for month I think this story should actually read 'Exclusive GTA IV DLC may be out this year'.

Anyway if its out in December, great (could be a good Christmas release). If we have to wait till Jan or Feb 2009, still great.

I'd rather them get it right than rush it out in time for Christmas.

Oh man, if it's taking this long, it's going to be epic. I'm guessing, we're gonna be getting Vice City.

This is why I don't really get into DLC that often. When it comes out a long period after the original release you end up being finished with the game and no longer care that much.

That excites and discourages in equal measure. It really could be something utterly fantastic, bordering on revolution. Alternatively, their ignorance in developing DLC may end up to be disasterous, with the content being an utter load.
No rush for it, though.

I'll care, if it's worth buying. The wait will be worth it if the DLC is substantial enough and the extended development time and huge sums of money involved suggest it might be fairly large.

 Microsofts biggest gaffe so far I'd say. The lack of a backlash either shows we're all 360 fanboys, or we don't really care about DLC.

I'm not so sure anymore.

I, like everyone else, was majorly hyped for this and I was gutted to be missing out on DLC. Now I don't even care about it as the missions in the game were hardly interesting. I've yet to complete that final mission, it's not like I can't. I just couldn't be arsed.

Saints Row 2 does all the stuff that I really wanted in a GTA expansion pack - more side missions, activities, customisation etc, so I just can't be arsed with this now.

Kinda guessed this when they didn't show anything at E3 or even mention it.

I wouldn't say someone who didn't even enjoy the actual game is best placed to answer that question. :fp:

I'm a 360 owner, I enjoyed GTA IV a hell of a lot, I'm looking forward to the DLC.

That seems to be the norm for Rockstar and the GTA Series.

Anyways, this news doesn't really bother me, I still need to finish the game - haven't played it for ages.
