Does anyone actually buy these things at the RRP on day one? I'm thinking mainly about Star Wars and Dexter.

The new Star Wars Blu-ray box set is around £60-65 today. But everyone knows that it will be half price by Christmas. And I bet you'll be able to get it for £15 in six months.

Dexter season 5 is £24.99. I never pay more than £12 for a Dexter box set. I just wait a while.

I wont buy Star Wars on principle due to the changes.

Cost has nothing to do with it 8-)

Nope. I don't buy games full price when they come out either.

I wonder how the people who bought Duke Nukem Forever at full price feel about it, now that the game is available new for £9.99

Imagine how the poor suckers who ordered the balls of steel edition feel. That was over €100 in Gamestop at launch.

In the first year after I bought my PS2 i used to buy some DVDs at release but by the end of that year I had wised up and started waiting as even then they were being discounted fairly quickly.

Shite like that just makes me look forward to digital distribution becoming the standard even more. I remember when the second Katamari game came out on PS2 I had a lot of trouble getting it as collectors/speculators were seemingly snapping up every copy in the belief it had a limited run.

Downloading movies isn't the same in whatever context be it legal or otherwise. Also they always NEVER include subtitles. But to get back to the original point. It's very rare I buy blu rays straight off. However, Jumanji on blu ray is £5.99 on hmv.com chaps.

They actually do, and if they don't subtitles files can usually be downloaded separately. Someone doesn't know what they're dooooooiiiiiiing.

That's bollocks anyway, loads of the releases have subtitles. And if they don't, it's usually easy to find the relevant SRT file on the web. :shifty:

SRT's are a pain. Legally downloaded movies from itunes/zune don't have subtitles. I have certainly never seen any.

So my grammar's bad. I am deaf so strawberry floatin' deal with it.
