o/ TigaSefi

I forget that you're deaf sometimes. I couldn't tell from your posts.

My grammar is a bit all over the place, and my past tense is always out of whack.

I'll take that bet. If it's £15 in 6 months I'll buy it for you. If it's not, you buy it for me.

OK, done. To be clear: it must be available NEW for £15 and can be from any high-street shop, supermarket or online store. By 'six months' we mean any point sooner than or up until March 31, 2012 inclusive. The price can be a limited-time special offer, part of a clearance sale or a permanent reduction. It must be an 'as seen' price and not a price that attracts a reduction from Quidco discounts or other services.

Some of the above guidelines make MY end of the bet harder, so you should be grateful.

Edit: And one in my favour: if I find it for £15.99 I win the bet. Be reasonable! I only get from £1-£15; you get from £15-£unlimited.

Gario, the Alien boxset has been available for around a year I think and is still £35 in shops.

Best of luck though.

I'm OK with that, and to make it fairer, if it isn't below £15, you only need to send me £15 towards it.

Yeah, I can't see this dropping below £30 at least in the next 6 months. Good luck though.

The BTTF trilogy is still £20 on Amazon too.

Yes, but some shops (especially supermarkets) make massive reductions on popular box sets for a limited time. These always come up on hotukdeals.com. One recent example was the entire Prison Break box set for £20 in Sainsbury's. I also got True Blood season 1 for £7 in Morrisons.

I mentioned that I can't use Quidco, but can I make use of freely available discount codes?

It was recently £14.70 on one website. Some shops reduce the price for a week or even a day.

It may not be perm. reduced but boxsets always go on sale for a limited time and stuff. I have to say £15 is extremely low for 6 months. I can see it for being £20-25 in that period.

I buy them.

I bought Star Wars, I bought BTTF, I bought every season of House, True Blood and Dexter. If it's a show/movie that I love then I'll pay the RRP to get it as quickly as possible.

NOTE: I prefer watching series with the higher quality and freedom afforded by owning the box set and will often not watch a show when it's first aired and wait for the box set.

The BTTF one started out at £30 though. £60 to £15 is quite a bit steeper.

I get what you're all saying. I know I don't have a chance of winning this bet. Hopefully in six months you'll all have forgotten that I made the bet and I quietly get on with my life :D

This is where Gario claims he was only talking about the prequel trilogy boxset.

I was only talking about either the prequel trilogy box set or the box set with the other three in it.

Those are around £30 at the moment, not £60-65.

Looks like the bet is off, I thought there was only the 9 disc extravaganza, didn't know about pauper sets.

Yes?
