Reports of big balloons filled with gas exploded which sounds like a weird freak accident.

Quick run for your lives, oh crap hold on I forgot my big pink balloon, just got to grab that first.

I wonder if this 'explosion' or 'loud bang' were backstage or outside. No one on the arena floor seems to be reporting anything other than hearing one or two loud bangs.

This is all very confusing. Whatever the explosion was it doesn't sound like it went off in the show part of the arena. Possibly outside or in another part of the building.

Good thing people have recorded and circulated these clips of the crowds leaving the building, should help us work out what's happened for sure.

Oh for strawberry float's sake

This is strawberry floating horrible to read about, sounds like it was in an area just outside the MEN where it connects to Victoria station.

Someone I work with was there with her daughter just two nights ago and I have a few friends who live very close by, makes it really hit home how scary this all is.

Footage floating around on Twitter of armed police stopping a car and arresting someone in Manchester, no idea if it's something to do with this but seems probable. Terrible news, just hope as many people are safe as possible.

spotted this thread at 11:59, and since then, have no idea wtf actually happened.

This is turning really nasty. Sounds like at least 25 people have died and there are several accounts suggesting it was a powerful nail bomb .

Interesting I struggle with navigating Reddit, but it seems NBC were reporting 20 people dead but no one else is reporting that.

A girl has posted on Facebook with bits of other people stuck to her hair and bag near the explosion, posting because it's the only credible looking eyewitness of actual explosive damage I have seen.

I wish people - and the media - would be more responsible with talking about what's happened in situations like this. So far I've heard it's a balloon exploding, a speaker exploding, a nail bomb, and a suicide bomb. How about people wait until we actually know rather than mindlessly speculating and throwing around different theories.
