This.

Has nothing to do with it. This law covers Books, Magazines, VHS, DVD - in fact any storage medium imaginable.

While I find the idea of rape porn or Necro porn disgusting, unless it can be proven to create dangerous individuals, then I'm not convinced it should be banned. One individual doesn't prove anything and it hasn't been proven that these images created the killer in him anyway, as they may have merely reflected his already held fantasies.

The really worrying bit is that people into BDSM might get caught up in this. I'm not into it myself, but it's a fairly common as far as fetishes go. If the law isn't clarified well enough, a huge amount of people could be arrested for something that doesn't harm anyone.

It seems to me that a few politicians are trying to launch a career with a Tabloid-sensationalist 'problem' on the back of one case; devious, weasel-faced liars that the vast majority are

The only solution is to find someone to actually engage in the extreme porn.

Not really. You can still be done for participating in any sexual act - even between consenting adults - that is deemed to corrupt public morals, etc. Yes, it's vague. 'Sh*tting on her t*ts' is probably going to become an arrestable offence. ;)

Welcome to the new reality. It's safer here.

Maybe they should try tracking down paedos and sex offenders before some guy who likes watching a bit of fisting or whatever.

Ok, god damn that's enough. Eighthours is already taking over the forum. Now he's trying to take over the country with these unimaginable laws.

What's next, is he going to ban people from living in his state who don't listen to exactly what he says? When is it all going to end! We're doomed, doomed I say.

Those pesky critters from CAAN (Campaigning Adult Action Network) are at it again, cheekily asking the government what the extreme porn law actually means for Joe Public.

Back in May of this year, the government passed new legislation making it an offence to possess material that was "pornographic", depicted "explicit realistic extreme acts" as well as being "grossly offensive, disgusting or otherwise of an obscene character". However, these clauses have not yet been “commenced”, meaning that we all have about another four months to give our dirty books collection the once-over before we metamorphose, on the stroke of some as yet unspecified midnight, into filthy degenerate criminals.

The ambiguities inherent in the Act were highlighted when pictures from Madonna’s once controversial Sex book were laid before five lawyers, and two declared them potentially illegal. If professional legal advice gives you no better than a 60/40 chance of getting the law right, what chance has the ordinary punter, poring carefully over their collection of “artistic” pics in an attempt to discern illegality?

For the time being, CAAN have decided to let the CPS (Crown Prosecution Service) off the hook. A spokesperson for CAAN explained: “The CPS get involved in the decision to prosecute – and undoubtedly they will have their own guidelines.

“However, it is our experience that individuals can have their lives wrecked by the publicity that follows on being 'outed' to the public, no matter how innocent they subsequently turn out to be.

“For now, our focus is on the arrest process – and who is likely to be arrested. To be honest, we are shocked that nearly four months after the passage of this new law, the Police are still claiming to have no view on what will get you arrested.”

This is a deeply troubling new piece of legislation. I really fear it will result in the completely unnecessary, socially devastating and expensive criminalisation of potentially thousands of consenting adults up and down the land. You really have to ask just WHO or WHAT do the Government think they are protecting here? And against what? :fp:

Not themselves as some of them are undoubtedly into that sort of thing anyway but will get away with it because they've got friends in high places

This law was only brought in to keep some old lady happy after some nutter killed her daughter.

It's never going be used and is a massive waste of time.

There's a fairly foolproof method;

1) Think of a fetish
2) subtract the spaces
3) add ,com

and there you go, you've found extreme porn. ;)

This is just a law introduced so police can get their hands on more loot. Each officer will measure his penis size based on his collection of confiscated porn.

They have it easy. Some of that stuff is hard to get hold of these days.
