Do you have any tips on the 99 mode? I keep dying as I have to boost to keep up and I never seem to get more than one 'air track' or whatever they're called per race. Haven't made it past Sand Ocean yet in the Knight Cup.

The tips really depend on your car!

The Golden Fox meta is learn the tracks, use all your boost every lap and stay in the front.

I like Wild Goose as his chunky health bar gets me through most races, but you can only really afford one boost per lap. You can sit toward the back, in the middle hoovering up the golden balls to get ahead, and in GPs you can use the first race to KO the grey cars (they'll extend your health bar for every subsequent race, they just won't refill the bar like KOing a player). Early KOs give you a huge advantage for GPs.

Also, I have not done this, but there are optimal places to use the skyway and you need to learn them. It won't dump you back down if you are over a tough corner or OOB so some tracks, like Sand Ocean you can get an extra 5 seconds of skyway just by timing it right.

I can't offer much advice on the actual 99 mode. The meta has well passed me by and now I struggle to get top 20. I've only managed to get wins in the leagues and team battle and have 5 overall now. Each one I think has come from playing Wild Goose and staying alive in the 30ish range and getting a well timed sky boost to elevate me right up the track and then use the full boost on the last lap to get the win. It often feels like luck more than judgement though.

Fire Stingray. Couple of things in TT which may help:

-I don't use brake or drift when cornering, I tap accelerator once or twice which enables tighter cornering without sacrificing too much speed
-Where you boost can strongly affect your times. For example, let's say you take a corner which you need to slow down for. If possible I will boost immediately after if the tracks allows me to because it gets me back to top speed straight away

Silence is guaranteed in every Grand Prix, just do one of those.

Yeah but you need to survive to the final 20,which is no easy feat.

Playing conservatively with the Wild Goose helps get you there.

Can't you just do the hard tracks option to get Silence?

Otherwise, you can join a Knight GP when there is about 3 seconds left on the option, it will not fill with players, and instead will fill with AI. Then you just race cautiously to get to the end.

TT and 99 are such different ways of racing, dialing myself into TT made me so much worse at 99.
