I am supposed to be reviewing the co-op aspects of F1 2011, but as the game has no matchmaking function in co-op and I have no current Live friends with a copy I cannot play it.
If anyone is free between 8-11 Mon-Wed for an hour or so next week I would like a quick game just to get a feel for the co-op - does it work, lag etc.
Will do. I actually wrote the co-op review of the game for my site and unfortunately I found loads of bugs. Did you mamage to avoid them?
Once the patch comes through (any day now hopefully) I will be up for a session sometime, but I can usually only get on for short periods. I hope to be around all day Saturday the 26th.
I haven't come across many bugs at all in the game after three single player seasons and an online co-op championship. What i've come to dislike are less bugs, but things that are just poorly designed like the way the AI moves unpredictably to spoil qualifying laps and how you can't just skip practice. At first it was refreshing in 2010 but hundreds of races later it just seems like a pointless withdrawal from the action. And of course David Croft, for anyone who's completed at least two races..
In short the career mode is crap. The online co-op mode is wonderful if you have a similarly skilled 'team-mate' and the racing feel is as good as ever.
I'll be polishing off the four remaining achievements over the next couple of days but after that i'll be moving on.
