What are your thoughts on this? Was he bang out of order? Or being blown out of proportion?

It shouldnt really be massively newsworthy, but its not the cleverest thing to do is it? He should be done by the FA at least.

It was a stupid thing to do. It sends out the wrong message and is a kick in the nuts to the family.

String them both up.

I know I am going to get flamed for this but whats the big strawberry floating deal? maybe he just wanted to show his support to a friend in his time of need, to show that although he did something stupid they have not forgotten about him?

I know what happened was strawberry floated up, but that sort of gooseberry fool happens all the time, and he is in jail because of it.

This was, frankly, absymal. I'm not saying the player should be sacked or anything (it would be a mild overreaction), but he certainly has proven himself to be a complete and utter strawberry floating idiot.

Yeah, what a thoughtless, tactless prick. He should be heavily fined at least.

In what way? You don't think it's outrageous that the guy's supporting someone who killed two kids while off his strawberry floating tits?

My two pennies worth:

Whereas I'm not going down the whole witch-hunt path of saying for him to be sacked etc I do however think it's disgusting and disrespectful to the family, who have lost their two sons in a car crash, a car crash that shouldn't have even occurred, due to that idiot being over the limit, and driving like a complete strawberry floating moron.

If Norris wants to support his friend, then go see him in prison, don't do absurd celebrations in front of thousands of people. Idiot.

Ah right, so if one of your best mates is jailed for making a stupid mistake, you just forget them and give them no support?

It may have been an ill-thought out celebration, but he's showing some solidarity to one of his best friends. In any other profession that would be praised no doubt, but footballer's are a different breed these days; the negative image created by the over-paid millionaires in the top flight means that anybody who plays the game professionally is targeted and has meaningless little things picked up on and blown well out of proportion.

This, though from the video it doesn't even look like a handcuffs symbol to me.

Didn't Tim Cahill do a handcuff symbol after scoring once after his his brother had been incarcerated?

It's not a "meaningless little thing". That's the point. It wasn't a quiet word down the phone, it was a thoroughly inappropriate gesture in front of thousands of people.

And "stupid mistake" doesn't quite cover it.

He should have done the celebration Robbie Fowler did, y'know the one that was aimed at Graeme Le Saux.
