I hope they go back to the pitch of what Fable was meant to be originally if you look at the previews of the first game instead of trying to create a sequel to the existing games.

Ultimately the good/evil system in Fable, and still is in most games, was very binary. You could be evil by killing everyone in a village but it didn't have much of a lasting effect. You could grind out plenty of good karma points by killing balverines and orcs and then return to the town a while later and everyone would still worship you. Imagine if a village wilted or thrived based on your actions.

Ideally I'd like a bit of a mish-mash involving Fable, Minecraft, Left 4 Dead, Shadow of Mordor, Dark Souls and Black & White which does sound generic as all hell but I think the right blend would still be unique.

-Start every player in the same map of Albion but let players action affect the how the world takes shape through creating new settlements, influencing the economy of the world, reshaping the landscape through magic etc.

-Instead of a scripted villain, how about an AI driven DM like Left 4 Deads director?

- Let players go on quests in a different players world so they can see how big a difference each player can make to their worlds.

-Have rivalries with other guild graduates like Mordor has the Nemesis system

-Have AI versions of your friends heroes invade your world. If you are evil then the heroes on your friends list will try to invade and target something like a mine you are forcing people to work in. If you are good have the villains on your friends list invade and target something like a prison which would unleash chaos on your world.

-Let players create a stronghold that they can choose to let other players attack.

I think the world wilting etc could be something that will be in the game, any online elements I doubt will make it as MS want to make single player experiences. A Dark Souls system could be ok but wouldn't sit in with the weirdness of fable...

If the combat is going to be like Fable 2 that means magic, a gun and a sword, its not that far from The Witcher in that sense but guns against other real people would be odd.

It would still be a primarily single player experience. Theres no active multiplayer stuff there.

I guess so. Fable has always been obsessed with good and evil and the economy so I think you're onto a winner with that prediction.

Looks like this will be in a good pair of hands, wonder if it'll make it out for the Xbox Two launch.

What I want from Fable is:
1. Interesting and funny characters
2. Interesting and well developed world with plenty of quirkiness (I loved reading all the humours descriptions of items in the previous games - it's the little touches that count)
3. Wide variety of meaningful choices that alter your character's path and progression (this is what all the previous games promised but somehow failed to deliver)
4. Ability to have heavily censored orgies with bawdy jokes delivered in cockney accents (because let's not break with tradition)

Even though I was a Sony fanboy, I wanted an Xbox to play Fable.
Fable 2 was also great. I remember playing that silly gambling arcade game before it launched, and got a gooseberry fool ton of money.

I also played 3. Can't remember anything about it. I think I finished it though.
Saying that, I can't remember the story for any of them.

I also remember old P Moly going on about planting trees or something. I wonder what he is up to these days?

Apart from being an eccentric millionaire, Peter Molyneux formed his own dev company 22 Cans.

They focus mostly on Mobile Phone games and have quite a controversial history already.

I would like him to be VERY lightly consulted on this.

What I thought was a really good idea in Fable was making you king and giving you decisions on the kingdom to make, but it was really poorly executed. Would like to see another bash at that.
