Very simple, Gandalf: don't worry yourself about it. Those of us who want to exploit the dev console - unlocked by the developers themselves for us all to use - can meanwhile get on with it.

I'm not ashamed to say that sometimes (actually most times) I want to play the game for the sake of the game, not the challenge. Games are supposed to be fun and if I get frustrated by the difficulty, it is no longer fun. But each to their own.

Oh don't worry, I aint worried, whatever floats your boat. But I don't see the point in shelling out money to be bubble wrapped and hand held throughout a game....

Yeah playing a survival horror game, but wanting to be tooled up like duke nukem is a bit silly.

It's pointless and removes the point of the game, without the challenge this would just be a boring collect a thon shooting gallery.

Eh, let them do what they want. Games are for fun. Challenge can be fun, but if it stops you having the fun then what's the point having it if it just puts you off the game.

Bro got this on his PS4, and despite the borders it looks very good. Might have to get it on PC sometime next year.

The borders are there on purpose, to make it more cinematic.

And it's the same for all versions, but there's a mod available to remove it for the PC version.

I've just finished it on chapter one. Oh, so your leg injury is gone and you can run? Marvellous.

Do the enemies see your bloody footprints or something? Cos I sneaked past the chainsaw guy without fail but he goes crazy and ran towards where I am despite being out of sight behind a wall.

I had to chuck a bottle towards where I came from and then sneak away further.

Meh, I can't see the appeal of playing a survival horror without the survival (and presumably, by extension, the horror) elements, but to each their own.

Chapter 14 boss is a banana split. There are no environmental elements to use when you run out of ammo.

Harsh words don't work. :x

Which boss was that? I finished it last night. Overall i loved it. Aside from a few shitty sections like Ch 1 & 2, and the insta kill boss sections in Ch 10, i thought it was amazing. Best feeling guns in a TPS in ages

The thing in the sewers, that uses the vents to hide in?

Shoot the hands. The damage is sent back to him.

Yeah I've fought him before, one freeze arrow does it. The dodgy controls don't help when you're trying to escape numerous enemies. I hope Mikami does another proper next gen one. This has massive potential.

Avoiding reading the thread because I'm only just getting started, but I've done chapter 5, and I'm liking it so far.

Does chapter 6 ever end?!

EDIT: Got through it. That was a long haul, but it's got me truly hooked now.

I'm up to chapter 5 now and enjoying it more, now that I'm getting a few more bullets to my name, and a bit stronger in terms of upgrades. The camera, visuals and tone are very uneven. Perhaps it's Eastern writing for the latter, it's all a bit cringe.
It's gotten a couple of big scares outta me already though, to its credit.

The game really panders to my exploration tendency. Just as well, because I keep reaching the ammo limit, then running low.

Yep, I think that's maybe the best one. I liked a couple of the others afterwards, but I don't think anything quite reaches those heights.

Chapter 6 for me. I'm not getting a feel for this game like I usually do with 'survival horror' games.... :? I'll probably put it down to Alien pissing me off, putting me in a bad mood before I play this?! Might give Alien a miss tonight and just go on this. Might then get a better feel for it.

I've hit a stumbling block. That strawberry floating blood arena, constantly run out of ammo and then that chainsaw dude appears. Yeah thanks. :shifty:
