For being gooseberry fool.

I've loved the game, but being so tight with ammo, then throwing loads of enemies at you in one go is gooseberry fool.

Agree re. the Laura battle, that's quite poorly signposted, but the rest of it was brilliant, and I did the last boss on my first go, finishing him off with my last crossbow bolt. I had to stop playing for five minutes because I was physically shaking from the intensity of it.

Chapter 9 is probably the most memorable for me. So many people cried and whined about Ruvik (at least over on Gaf) and his one hit kills but i think he got me less than 3 times the entire chapter.

Yeah, I loved that chapter. Ruvik got me a couple of times - including once where I couldn't see him anywhere, and I ran down a narrow corridor and he came out of a side door just as I was passing. Jumped a mile.

I really love this game. The atmosphere, art style, the weapons, its all amazing stuff. I also love how they really nailed the feeling of being trapped in a nightmare, so many moments of being chased down endless hallways by unnamed terrors, its so good.

Yup, totally agree.

My tactic for that part was let the guy with the crossbow hit me with an explosive and then run into a mob of them

Goddamn, chapter 6 was absolutely brutal. This game cris-crosses the line between sheer greatness and face-tearing frustration with alarming regularity. The way it just leaps about is like I'm in some sort of dream. Mind-bending.
Cult classic in the making, for sure.

Checkpoints are a bit uneven. In chapter 7, I spent about two hours (not in one go) trying the same section, and had no checkpoints. Then it gives me two in a row, basically either side of a cut-scene.

That part that I kept replaying - I'm not as crap as it makes me sound (not quite). I could have got through easily, but I was burning too much ammo and health, so I wanted to find a more efficient way to do it. A checkpoint half way through would have been more than welcome, but I understand why there wasn't one.

Just done this part and I know exactly what you mean. I wanted to get 'in and out', as it were, the most efficient way possible. Took a fair few attempts.

Season pass for this is now £7.50 on steam. Bit of a kick in the teeth for those that purchased at launch two weeks ago.

Chapter 9 and 10 is such a ridiculously effective one-two combo that just bats you across the face one way and then another. This game is genuinely a bit exhausting to play, it's relentlessly grim.
Killed the chapter 10 boss on my first go, somehow. Must have gotten lucky hitting a weak point?
I'm also following the story! I think. Probably. Kind of.

And chapter 11 is again a huge shift in tone and play style. A huge similarity to Resi 4 here.
I wish more people had played this game.

I've got right to the end, and got stuck, as in proper ran out of ammo. I'm a few enemies from the end, I can't be arse anymore.

You're right though,my those three chapters were grim.

You could just reload the chapter? The final chapter is piss easy

The chapter is just full of wanky boss fights. I'll give it a miss. It became less fun at the end. Too much bother.

Oof, chapter 13 was tense as all hell. Down to my last few shots, so had to sneak through the lot, brilliant.

I can't see this game now without hearing "Booooox man" to the tune of Roxanne. Specifically Jeremy Hardy's rendition of it.

Started this the other night and sailed through chapters 1 and 2 without dying or even being seen by anything.

Is that the annoying stealth everyone was complaining about?

15. I know that after this arena is that keeper. And I hVe literally no ammo. :x

I might restart the chapter. Not holding out any hope. Which is a shame as Ive loved it.

I can't believe it, I've clocked it
Man that was Swery-levels of cray, absolutely barmy. It's a shame the first couple of chapters don't really grip, but when you stick with it, it's pretty damn good.

Even the first 2 chapters are way better in NG+. Its way more fun going through them a bit more tooled up. You enjoy it overall buffs?
I picked up the season pass as its already on sale for 10 bucks on steam

I'm not going to bother with NG+, seeing as though it was just a rental copy I had, but goddamn it'd be so satisfying to give a big 'strawberry float you' to all the enemies with decent weapons this time.
Personally I was fully expected to lose my temper at dying too much (like Alien) and not finish it but...I dunno, I always *just* made it through the hairy encounters. Apart from that bollocks in Chapter 9 or 10 when you're messing about with all of those fire pipes and...y'know...:dread: So in the end I ended up enjoying it a lot.
