Finished this on Wednesday night.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish. I had no issue with the early chapters in the game and thought it got better and better as it went on.

One part which I did find frustrating was the eyeball monster boss. The fact that he could one shot you in that form was annoying and I must have died at least ten times on him trying to hit his bloody eye to stop him coming at me.

NG+ looks like a lot of fun and I'll try and get round to going through that after I've got through a bit more of my backlog.

Oh yeah and the game is too long. It really went on a bit toward the end. I kept thinking the game was drawing to it's end and another chapter started.

Just picked this up from GAME, £40 for the PS4 Special edition + Season pass seemed like a good deal

Well I've just played chapters 1-3 and I'm really enjoying it. Really looking forward to playing more.

Taken a punt on this, Tesco Direct have it for £30 and used boosted club card vouchers so didn't have to use any earth pounds. :datass:
RE Revelations is £5.50 on PS3 so got that too (also with tight fisted club card vouchers).

1GB update today. Great, I thought. I'm finally going to get some of that season pass DLC that I paid for at launch.

Nope. 1GB of minor bug fixes and optimisations, and still no date for the DLC. FFS.

Just finished this and I thought it was really good overall. I'll definitely play it again at some point. So right from the start, Sebastian was stuck inside a nightmarish version of the matrix?

Game are offering the season pass for the PS4 version at £9.99 right now which is better than the £15 on PSN http://www.game.co.uk/en/m/the-evil-within-season-pass-playstation-4-308414?

Hm, I'm really not getting on with this, on chapter 3 now and something is not clicking. Should I persevere, or does the game remain much the same, in terms of mechanics?

It does get better, but about 3/4s of the way through i lowered the difficulty and I enjoyed it far more as a result. Sod the ego, drop the difficulty.

Agreed. If you aren't enjoying the game, not really worth playing. I've not got round to starting this yet, but when I do I'll be playing on easiest. 8-)

I would also recommend playing on past Chapter 3, perhaps to about Chapter 6 or 7. The game transforms a few times in terms of what it wants to be - it kinda fits the theme of the game in general, really, the constant readjusting, perceptions of what's tangible and real, stuff like that. It was very effective in that respect.

I too would advise against dropping the difficulty. The game could be frustrating at times but overall it was perfectly manageable on Survival.

In the village area in chapter 3 you can sneak kill nearly every enemy if you are patient and you can remove a couple of them completely by using an autosave glitch. After you meet the doctor the game autosaves shortly after this a couple of enemies burst through the window nearby if you reload the checkpoint these enemies disappear completely.

To each their own on the difficulty level. I was starting to get a bit fed up and wanted to try and expedite the play through with any more of the frustrations, hence the drop. Finished it now and glad I dropped the difficulty, but again, to each their own.

For a 'survival horror' game, it really didn't click with me? And I normally love them. I dropped the level down so I could try to rush through and finish it quickly, even then is was too easy and found myself giving up around chapter seven.

If it was too easy, why didnt you put the difficulty back up? And chapter 7? Jesus, you missed most of the best levels stopping there

I dropped it so I could fly through it quicker, but like I said, even then it still didn't click with me. People have said the game gets better, but I've deleted it now and don't intend to trawl through it again to get to the latter stages. Besides which I've got Resident Evil now, by far the better game!

Received this from The Game Collection through Amazon today for the cool price of £20 (inc £2 postage). I'm only on chapter 2 but I'm quite enjoying it so far, although I can't say I'm a big fan of the seemingly permanent letterboxing.

I just finished this yesterday and found some of the bosses quite hard going, bordering on frustrating, particularly when you die and then have a fairly lengthy load before you can try again. Also had run very low on ammo for the last few making me have to scavenge for weapons during the fights.

Having unlocked + game though, much more enjoyable that I can carry on with my levelled up character and new assortment of weapons (+ all other weapons I found during the game available right from the start) :datass:
