I'll never play it, but it looks good if you can handle the continual stress. Alien Isolation is teaching me all I ever needed to know about how well me and survival horror go together = not at all.

In a reckless move, I bought the season pass without even finding out what it included. That's how much faith I've blindly put in this game.

2 chapters in. I like it. Not sure about the 2.35:1 gimmick. Films have the benefit of being 4K and on gigantic screens. I'm playing 1080p on a 21 inch monitor here.

No, and I'm certain that's deliberate. FOV is really narrow, focuses your attention on the enemy you're aiming at, so you really need to make every shot count.

Thanks mate.

Up to chapter 3. Love it. Love the way you save your game..love the setting, very RE4. The story makes no sense at the moment. But I'm enjoying creeping around setting people on fire :datass:

Just up to the bit with the gate...I need a chainsaw :dread: right by the chained up guy, yeah thanks.

Also the music in the houses is brilliantly creepy.

I'm surprised that nobody has mentioned The Last of Us in any reviews with regards to core gameplay. The second chapter here is very, very familiar. Stealth kills, sneaking about a wide open space, using bottles as distractions. A shonky attempt, like, but not bad.
I take it the rest of the game isn't like this?

Love this!

I'm up to chapter 3, it's like Resi 4 meets Silent Hill with a dash of Eternal Darkness's madness and like Buff said, a sprig of The Last of Us....

I made the tough choice to trade in Shadow of Mordor to afford this, and am glad I did. Old school survival horror

Honestly, I really like the aspect ratio. It blurs the line between cutscene and gameplay very well, particularly how you can still move the camera during said scenes.
There is a bit of a giveaway though, the border 'softens', becomes a little blurry, during a cutscene.

Absolutely no idea what's going on here. Just finished chapter 4 and I'm lurching from one disaster to the next

Also what is it with Mikami games and being chased :x stop it! It's strawberry floating creepy.

It's not scary. There are companions to help with the isolation.

It's only when you get chased :dread:

No surprise this game is hampered by severe technical issues. Now we have confirmation that they lied about the ratio it throws their claims of "cinematic" out the window with them.

Hoping they bring the FOV out a bit on PC and reduce the borders to what they claimed as default.

The PS4 version seems to have issues as well.

I love it. Chapter 3 it opens out into like Re4 style game.

So far I'm having more fun with it than alien.
