Just this second finished this. I bumped the difficulty down to Casual ( 8-) ) because towards the end I just wanted to get it done. Frustrating at times, and great at others, but I have to say I was disappointed overall. And that letterboxing was annoying as strawberry float.

The console versions of this just got patched this morning to include a toggle to remove the letterboxing! And reports say the performance doesn't take a hit because of it (not that it was all that great in the first place, I've heard).

Time to finally pick this up, I think.

Really glad about this. Artistic vision or no the letter boxing was intrusive beyond believe (even more so with subtitles on) and if it was there to ease technical problems then it didn't work. Cool they added this though because I thought they'd bail hard after the DLC was done.

it's like i can breath now.. letterboxing was horrible.

Kind of annoying as I played through this twice.

Just got this this morning. Traded 3 games for it and ended up getting money back. Nice. 8-)

Who thought it would be a good idea to start the game with you limping around helpless for 20 minutes? Doesn't exactly give the best first impression. Chapter 2 is better so far but the game seems super tough, ammo is so scarce and enemies are sons of bitches. Would I be better off dropping down to easy mode? Is this a game that's gonna make me rage?

I was doing okay on normal until I just stopped playing it for reason. Think I was on like chapter 7 or something.

Possibly. Stick with it for now - Chapter 3 is better still, and after that it just keeps improving. Tails off ever so slightly before the end but you're in for a run of really good stuff soon.

Keep it on normal, I say. It gets a little desperate but that's part of the fun.
If I can clock it on normal, you can.

I've just started this again after my last PS4 broke thus deleting all my save data. Is it possible to move the camera further away now?

For a fan of 'Survival Horror' games, this one didn't click with me?! I really don't know why? I ended up giving up around chapter three...

I found the entire game to be a bit of a mixed bag. I think they should have stuck with one game play style rather than have it start out as a half decent stealth game but then suddenly turn into an all out action game with the limited resources of a stealth game. Overall I think I enjoyed it but I found certain sections to be a bit of a chore.

Ok, I take back anything reservations I had about this. Chapter 3 is amazing. All the traps and ways to kill enemies is so strawberry floating cool. I actually replayed it a second time because I disarmed everything the first time instead of using them on the enemies. :fp:

The only gripe I have is the game's performance and boy is it strawberry floating bad. I'm no expert but it must be running sub-20fps a lot of the time which is just appalling for a game from 2014.

Weirdly, the performance seems to improve as the game goes on. There are some drops later on still, but it's nowhere near as noticeable as it is during the early stages.

Burned the spiderwoman alive in the next chapter. OH YEAH. 8-)

I'm on to chapter 6 now and I have literally no strawberry floating idea what's going on with this story. It's totally bonkers.

Yeah, it's definitely improved since chapter 3. It's still not great, though.
