THis looks fantastic Jawa. I know that I must never go near it because I'll pour my life into it. More than happy just to watch your progress though :)

My new camp is built in - and around - a cave. It was pretty tricky but I've incorporated a working area, living area... and a bar to relax in.

Everyones living in the apocolypse and Jawa's out here living better than most people do in real life. :toot:

Can people attack your base and rob all your gear?

There is an option to turn on "pacifist" mode, which means that if people attack you they only do very small - almost worthless - amounts of health damage. I have this turned on and most other players do, too; the focus is on dealing with the real baddies rather than other players.

You can't take 99% of stuff from peoples' camps; the only things you can take is water and food but, even then, you can "lock" resources if desired.

Generally in F76 most players help each other. There are some people who go around trying to attack other players and finding out ways of trashing their camps but they are a small minority.

I pay for the optional Fallout 1st subscription service and this means that I can create my own "private adventure"; with just me (and any other players I invite) in the gameworld. This is handy as I can then concentrate on building in peace without being disturbed by others :-).

I want to somehow be able to play F76 in VR and then visit jawa's camps. They always look so cosy.

VR... in Fallout... that could be amazing, Victor! It happened for Skyrim so you never know. Albeit now that MS owns Bethesda, I doubt anything on that path will happen unless they release a consumer VR headset.

Well, I wasn't sure... I left things so that I had time to think... and I let my Fallout 1st annual subscription expire.

But I couldn't handle it.

So... I have re-subscribed, but only monthly so that I can stop if needed. It costs more this way (it's £11.99 each month) but I have more control over that and I don't have to pay out the annual sub as a lump sum.

Fallout 76 lives! The building will go on!

There's an official Fallout 4 VR which is it's own standalone game, the full thing in VR. I didn't get it though as it's fallout 4 and not one of the good ones.

Ah! I had no idea that Fallout 4 had a VR version. Alas, it appears to be PC-only... I wish it had gained a PSVR release. Skyrim was super-impressive in PSVR; some tech issues, of course, but still a great experience.

I've been working on a new camp at a mountain river location in the south of the Savage Divide. I haven't visited the area before and I did a fair amount of running away from baddies! The spot I'm in seems reasonably quiet, though, and I'm super-happy with how the build developed this evening; it's a large camp that fits in pretty well with the surroundings.

The core structures are complete and I can move onto the decoration phase tomorrow evening :-).

...finished it! I like the riverside vibe and the cliff area sure did pose some building challenges.

Yeah, that trailer looks good and there is some cool chat about the upcoming TV series is in Stuff - but if anyone is playing F76, right now you can grab a free Vault 33 jumpsuit from the Atomic Shop. Vault 33 is a vault that'll be featured in the TV episodes.

Gotta move quick, though, because it looks like the jumpsuit is only available for two days.

The servers are down and the Atlantic City update featuring Season 15 "The Big Score" is currently in progress. Large updates usually mean the game is unavailable for a number of hours; often around four.

Bethesda wrote:Headline Highlights

Atlantic City – Boardwalk Paradise! Visit the sights of the exciting Atlantic City Boardwalk! Meet three new Factions, complete two new expeditions, earn rewards, and face off against new foes!

Season 15 – The Big Score We’re going all-in with this season’s rewards that include new C.A.M.P. items, armor paints, and more!

Starting loadouts – Whether you’re playing Fallout 76 for the first time or working on your third or even fourth character, you can skip the introductions and jump right into Level 20. You can even choose a new starting Perk Card Loadout complete with various resources to get you on your way!

Early Game Improvements – The Forest Region has received numerous updates from new points of interest, a vendor at the Gillman Lumber Mill, rare Legendary creature spawns and more!

The once quiet and peaceful Forest region in Appalachia is starting to see more foot traffic as of late, with factions moving in and taking over.

> Gillman Lumber Mill: The Responders have taken over the Gillman Lumber Mill and set up a new vendor, carrying items and plans helpful for new adventurers!

> Factions: We’ve added various new points of interest associated with different factions in the Forest area, and a new Daily Quest in the region to help introduce you to them.

Weather Control Station

In case you mist it, we’ve added Weather Control Stations for C.A.M.P.s!

When the Weather Control Station is placed, it will change the weather in the radius of your C.A.M.P. Players who visit your C.A.M.P. can also see the weather, perfect for photo ops and added ambiance!

To use, simply place the item in your C.A.M.P. and power it on – watch the weather change before your eyes!

You may be wondering how to get your hands on these Weather Control Stations – you can get them from the Atomic Shop and through the Season 15 scoreboard!

> Weather Control Station (Clear Weather) – Claim free in the Atomic Shop!
> Weather Control Station (Atlantic City Boardwalk) – Earn from the Season 15 scoreboard!
> And more to come!

I'm excited to try out the camp weather-changing function! I'm also a bit concerned about high-challenge creatures spawning in the Forest area and the ability for new players to jump straight to level 20. Bethesda need to, IMHO, focus on making the game easier for newcomers, not spawn in tougher creatures and help people bypass the start of the game.

The Atlantic City game update has completed and the servers are back online. I'm gonna be trying it out in around twenty minutes :toot: .

The camp weather stations (see previous post) are available; the "clear weather" one is free... but the "snow weather" one costs 1,200 Atoms (around £9) :dread: ...

...but I have to have it :shifty: .

FALLOUT 76 IN 2024 – A NEW YEAR APPROACHES!

Dear Vault Dwellers of Appalachia,

As we look ahead to another exciting year in Appalachia, we can’t help but feel a warm glow (or perhaps that’s radiation?) emanating from the amazing community of players in Fallout 76. Just last month, we celebrated our fifth anniversary, and we’ve come a long way since we first stepped out of the Vault into the wastelands of Appalachia. Together, 17 million players have experienced new Fallout tales and characters with Wastelanders. You’ve made major choices affecting the area’s outcome in Steel Reign and Steel Dawn. You’ve even ventured beyond Appalachia’s borders with The Pitt and now Atlantic City. You’ve seen traveling carnivals, unlocked tons of content with Fallout Seasons, fought Spooky Scorched, set foot on New Jersey’s glamorous post-nuclear boardwalk and much more.

And we’re not done yet.

Many of you are off exploring the brilliant-but-bloodstained beaches in our Atlantic City - Boardwalk Paradise update as we speak. While you’re enjoying a well-deserved holiday in our irradiated resort town, we thought this the perfect time to look forward to what’s coming next year in Appalachia.

Together, over 16 million players have experienced new Fallout tales and characters with Wastelanders.

Image

Arriving in Spring 2024, the second installment, Atlantic City - America’s Playground, features an additional mission in which players will confront the legendary Jersey Devil, along with new story driven quests, more areas to explore and, of course, plenty of rewards.

Image

War never changes, but that sure doesn’t stop Appalachia from mutating! Later in 2024, we’re expanding our map southward, deep into the wooded heartland of Shenandoah. This uncharted, once-tranquil expanse in the heart of Virginia will bring a new questline, factions and rewards.

Throughout the coming year, the team is also shining a greater light on Fallout 76’s beloved Seasonal Events. We’re looking forward to running them much more frequently and offering a host of new rewards with each Event. There are also plans for new Seasonal Events to round out our roster, so get ready to pencil in those calendars in 2024.

Among all this exciting new content, we’re planning to release several additional features and improvements that benefit our avid builders and adventurers alike. Whether you’ve roamed Appalachia’s wilds since day one or are still adjusting to the natural light outside the fluorescent halls of Vault 76, next year marks an exciting time to adventure into Fallout 76 and make friends in Wasteland.

And we can’t forget the premiere of the highly anticipated Fallout TV series, coming to Amazon Prime this spring. This episodic series represents a collaboration between the creative minds at Bethesda Games Studios and Kilter Films – showing an expanded look at the Fallout universe like never before, breathing the world to life with new stories, characters, and moments for both fans and newcomers come to join us on these country roads.

From all of us at Bethesda Game Studios, we deeply appreciate everyone’s continued support and encouragement. The team has had a fantastic year here in Fallout 76; Here’s to many more!

Happy Holidays!
-Jon Rush
