I've ventured into the Mire area and built my first camp there! The area has some lovely lighting but there are plenty of tough enemies lurking... I don't think I'll stay here too long!

I'm back at my new camp under the dark skies of the Ash Heap. I'm gonna try taking some daytime shots here, too.

I like this one! Classic jawa style but it looks particularly solid.

Thanks, Orange :-). Yeah, those concrete roofs seemed to fit in well on the Ash Heap. The interior rooms are quite nicely decorated and I'm gonna get some shots of them, too.

...a daytime and a few interior shots! I so like how the lighting effects can change the look of a scene.

This camp took quite a bit of time to build; There are no upper floor pieces (I used roof panels as flooring) and so it was tricky working against the build system to place walls onto the roofing. I think it could be my largest build to date and it's using pretty much full budget.

I'm getting into merging items to create customised furniture, too. It's tricky and really I need to complete the mission to get the flamethrower as that helps with merging items... but I'd actually have to play the game "proper" to do that :-D.

Looks bigger than normal /nocontext

What's this "merging" then?

Merging is when you combine objects in a way which you can't normally do. It's very useful for things like placing items onto, say, shelf units; by default you can only position something on top of something else - not in it.

In the picture above, that shelf which the radio is in is actually a three-shelf unit and I merged the radio and ornaments into the top interior shelf... and then merged that combination into the lower wooden cabinet... and then merged all of that into the wooden table. I could then place the remaining items (the things on the top of the shelf unit and at the front) as normal. It really can get quite complex and creative; I'm getting into it now but some people are doing some incredible stuff.

It's done by a variety of methods but primarily through using the power connector step-on pad to "drop" items into each other and the camp unit to raise items above each other. But-by-bit you can merge objects... but it takes a lot of trial-and-error and time! Additionally, many folk use the flame thrower to destroy objects (such as walls and ceilings) then place another item in the same position, and re-build damaged the damaged camp items so that they are merged together. I have yet to get the flame thrower but I hope to.

So, yeah, merging is an un-planned bit of the game but camp builders are using it in unique ways to really bring innovation and diversity to camp creation :-).

Welcome to jawaTown!

It was a challenge to create four buildings within the constraints of a "build budget" but I kept them small so that I could still include a reasonable amount of furnishings and detail.

As an aside, oddly the Tweet appears in my "replies" section of Twitter rather than "tweets"; which is a bit strange as I posted directly from my PS4 Pro just as usual.

I ventured out to the west river and setup this rundown home out on the water.

Already got a new Ash Heap build nearing completion, too.

I like the rough look of this place and I enjoyed creating it.

I never knew this was a whole thing.

Yeah, for pretty much all of the past few years, "videogaming" has meant F76 building for me, Gecko.

It won’t likely be any time soon, got enough on my plate right now without adding FO76 back into the mix.

Yeah, we need to get this done. Jawa needs to do the story stuff so he can help, the little gooseberry fool.

Join 15 million players in the ever-evolving Wasteland in Fallout 76. Build your C.A.M.P.; customize your player’s outfit, weapons, and playstyle; and pave your path through exciting quests.

In the meantime, answer the call of Vault 76 as you explore, quest, build, craft, and fight across a post-apocalyptic Wasteland in West Virginia.

With so many ways to play, you too can answer the call of Vault 76.

I liked that vid; a fun way of getting eyes onto the game and Atlantic City looks to be a pretty neat new area. The vid says "coming soon" and a game update is due to take place tomorrow (or maybe next week) and I wonder if it'll include this new location as a part of the changes?
