I downloaded and tried the update on both my PS4 Pro and - for the first time! - on PS5. It does seem to run very well and - whilst I'm not certain - the graphics clarity/draw distance seem to be improved, too. FPS has definitely increased; on PS5 it runs even slicker than on the Pro.

So I've finally got into playing the game on my PS5. I'm not sure that it'll be my main system as I tend to prefer gaming at my desk, but we'll see!

An oddity is that on the PS5 version they have transferred the Start button and Touchpad functionality. No idea why and, after around 2,700 hours of gameplay my brain couldn't cope with that, so thankfully you can revert the controls to the original setup  .

Kind of regretting getting this on the ps5 now, as I no longer have plus meaning I can't play it at all if I fancy it.

I can play on Xbox of course but it would mean starting again.

It's been 60fps for past 2 years on Xbox Series X but now with 4K that's decent.

I'm living out on a mountainside road; the air is fresh and we get plenty of sun here.

We're coming up to five (5!) years of Fallout 76! :o .

A new update is out today - I'm currently downloading it - and it's a biggie! Click here to view the full patch notes but highlights include:

Perk Changes & Additions

We've made adjustments to the level requirements for various existing Perk cards to make them more accessible for lower level characters and added the ability to open multiple Perk card packs at once!

New Perks!

We've added two new Perk cards; Arms Keeper and Stable Tools!

Arms Keeper: Reduces the weight of Rifles. (25% / 50% / 75% per Perk card rank.)
Stable Tools: Automatic melee weapon durability bonus. (10% / 25% / 40% per Perk card rank.)

Balance

Encounters: We've reduced enemy difficulty and added more healing items and ammo to Summersville and Morgantown Airport.
Encounters: We've reduced the frequency of NPC attacks on player C.A.M.P.s.
Encounters : Legendary creatures no longer mutate at 50% Health to have Health regeneration, but instead have 60% increased Health.
Encounters : We've made various changes to health, resistances, and weapon damage for the following creatures: Super Mutant, Protectron, Mole Rat, Mr.Handy/Gutsy, Feral Ghoul, Scorched, Glowing One, Assaultron, Mirelurk King, Mirelurk Crab, Cave Cricket, Radscorpion, Angler, Floater Flamer, Floater Freezer, Floater Gnasher, Mutant Hound, Liberator, and Mirelurk Hunter.
Resistances: Protection from Acid, Electricity, and Radiation have been corrected to more accurately target the specific type of damage dealt.

And the megatons...

Décor: Players can no longer disarm Bone Chimes in another player's C.A.M.P.
Free-cam: You can now use Free-cam while in Photomode!

... :toot: .

I've completed my biggest (mist detailed) build yet; I've used the full budget and can't place anything else :-). It's got a few different buildings (a security post and a sales block) alongside the main home.

These two shots demonstrate how the weather lighting can change the look and feel of a place; it really does work well.

I like how this camp turned out. The Toxic Valley has some great lighting and my low-level outpost fits in pretty well at this spot.

Yep, it's Fallout Day and we're building up to the fifth (5th!) birthday of Fallout 76!

It seems incredible that we've enjoyed five years after a controversial launch. I'm still building and I have no plans to stop! :toot: .

My new camp is built in - and around - a cave. It was pretty tricky but I've incorporated a working area, living area... and a bar to relax in.

I've had a fun afternoon creating a new camp in the Toxic Valley. I really like how the main frame turned out and I'm moving into the decorating phase now. Hope to get a bit more done this evening :-).
