Individual contestants may wish to assist the judges with research notes helpful to their deliberations. For example, it might be be worthy of note that Gangsta FC are fooling no one with the tough sounding name - they are in fact an unusually short and puny collection of players, lacking pace and height at the back and any real skill or bite in midfield.

How we don't know who the judges are, how are we meant to bribe them tell them about the awesomness of our teams, especially Sexy Like Iain Dowie FC.

You couldn't be any more wrong.

Pace comes in the form of the quickest left back in the league and a young Brazilian with energy to burn. Wes Brown is 6 ft 1 and what Puyol lacks in height he makes up for in experience and determination as well as sheer ability. As for my midfield, Ramires is a little known Brazilian who impressed me during the Confederations Cup with his pace, ball control and tackling. Hargreaves, when fit, is easily in the top 3 in the world who's good at what he does. Sitting in midfield, breaking up play and distributing the ball to the wings. As for Clint Dempsey, he is my most under-rated player. Consistently playing for Fulham and his country, he too impressed at the Confederations Cup and is no slouch on the field. Zidan, Fabiano and Rooney are names everyone should have heard of. All have exceptional technical ability, are quick on their feet, strong, know how to harass defenders and most importantly, they know how to put the ball in the back of the net.

Now my dear judges you may look at Sexy Like Iain Dowie FC and be wondering who the hell half these players are, are any of them any good and would they work well together? Well lets look at the players and see why this side is the best in the competition:

Goalkeeper - Rob Green
It's no secret that I am an avid West Ham fan, so at first this inclusion may seem slightly biased, but I can assure you that is not entirely the case. Green is one of the most consistent and underrated keepers in the Premiership, he's a fantastic shot stopper, reliable and he's an English keeper who can save penalties, what more could you want!

Right Back - Gregory van der Wiel
21 years old and probably one of the brightest prospects in the game right now, he was recently voted Ajax's Talent of the year and also made his debut for the Netherlands national team in February. He's competent going forward, he already has 2 goals in 40 odd appearances, as well as excellent defensively, a corking player who has a big future ahead of him.

Centre Back - Breno
A 19 year old Brazillian who was in the middle of a bidding war between Real, Milan and Munich (who he eventually signed for) which tells you something about how highly he's rated. He stands at 6 and a half foot and is built like a bus, yet despite this he can also play elegant football that you'd expect from a Brazillian, they'll be very few strikers willing to try and get past this monster of a defender and few at the opposite end who'll be willing to be marking him when he goes up for set pieces.

Centre Back - Rafael Márquez
The most experienced member of the defense and a damn good player to boot. Anyone who's good enough to play for Barca and captain Mexico has to be something special right? One of the best readers of the game and also a great distributer of the ball, he's also rather versatile and can play in midfield or at right back if needs be, a player who many wish would be lining up for their side each week.

Left Back - Urby Emanuelson
Another Dutch player, they know how to produce good wing backs do those Dutch. Another winner of Ajax's talent of the year 3 years ago, Urby has many similar traits to those of his Dutch colleague in the side, being both excellent defensively and attacking wise, he can also take a mean set piece when the time comes.

Defensive Midfield - Xavi
There's a reason he was the player first picked in the draft, possibly the best player in the world right now, but shocking ignored in the place of more attacking based players. Still he was voted Player of Euro 2008, as without him Spain would have ended up without the trophy and also recently MOTM in the Champions League final, which featured the 'superior' Ronaldo, Henry, Messi and Rooney. The best distributer of the ball in the game, a great tackler and he's competent going forward as well, a great all rounder and a player who only plays in successful team, such as this one

Centre Midfield - Jack Collison
If this lad was English the media would be creaming themselves over this lad right now, unfortunately he chose to play for Wales and is ignored as such. Another product of the West Ham youth academy and surely, but sadly, destined for bigger things, he can score goals as well as set them up.

Centre Midfield - João Moutinho
Just watch this, yes he's that good, all the time

Attacking Midfield - Sebastian Giovinco
If Juventus rate him then he can't be gooseberry fool can he? One of Italian footballs brightest prospects, he does his job of creating goals, scoring them and generally being a pain in the rear end of defenses with his mazy running and lightning pace, a force that none of these other sides will want to be up against.

Striker - DIMITAR Berbatov!
Most of the Man U fans on here moan like crazy about this man, because he's lazy, doesn't score enough and is just a waste of money. But that's because the system at United doesn't suit his style of play, he's one of the best players I've seen live (and I've seen many), because he's so amazingly talented. In this system he'll be back to his best, scoring numerous goals and also providing them for his team mates, I pity the fool who'll be trying to deal with this master of his craft.

Stiker - Klaas-Jan Huntelaar
The Hunter and with a nickname like that it tells you exactly what he does. In 3 years at Ajax he scored 76 goals in 92 games which earned him a move to Real where he scored 8 in 20, mostly being used as a sub. He's the all time leading scorer for the Dutch under 21s and has been labelled by some as the new Van Basten  If you see him on the team sheet against you, you'd better hope you've put an army in front of the goal, because it's the only way you're going to stop this man from scoring.

One of the judges needs to be first above the parapet, so here goes. Just to say I have based my judgements on each of the ten match-ups.

Match A

Sexy Iain Dowie FC have a good mixture of youth and experience. It is a good balanced team, although I remain unconvinced Xavi is ideally suited to a holding role. Lots of great players in The Fighting Mongooses, but I worry that Gerrard, Fabregas and Cahill would want to be all playing in the same hole. If the Mongooses could find some balance, their midfield looks very strong, but I think SIDFC would match up as well as most. The lack of pace up front for SIDFC would not be a big problem in this game.

Result: Win for SIDFC

Match B

This could well be a high scoring game. I would worry greatly about CoraTeam’s ability to tackle back. I think the big men up front would cause Gallas all sorts of bother though. I think Henry might be kept quiet by Carvalho and Alex. CoraTeam have the greater offensive threat, but look ripe for the taking in midfield. I think between Villa and Riquelme, they would have the guile to do so.

Result: Win for Robot House

Match C

This is a very difficult match-up. You have a team with an incredibly strong midfield but looks sorely lacking at the back (Rotation Berlin) against a strong three-pronged attack from Brick Team. I suspect Diarra, Carrick and Giggs would be overrun in midfield, so much would depend on the full backs making up the difference because I do not see much help coming from the forwards. Would Anelka/Guiza hurt Lucio/Toure though. Really tough one this, so a moment of magic from Iniesta will win the day.

Result: Win for Rotation Berlin

Match D

These look like quite evenly matched teams and both have good balance. On the grounds that I think Eto’o and Drogba would cause Brown and Puyol quite a lot of bother, I think that will prove to be the deciding factor.

Result: Win for Spartak Piecrust

Match E

I think much would rest on the ability of Messi to dictate this game. I do not see Campbell/Pato causing the Mockmasterds defence any trouble at all. With Palacios and Muntari, I doubt Messi could entirely dominate the match. Not many goals in this one, so it could be decided from a moment of brilliance, but not from Messi.

Result: Win for The Inglorious Mockmasterds
Match F

I do not see much to protect Kompany and Distin from something of an onslaught and I would not expect them to withstrand it. I can see lots of goals from Higuan and Aguerro. Going forward, Deportivo would create plenty of chances too, but I am not sure Gomez and Bojan will finish them.

Result: Win for Swashbucklers FC

Match G

This looked like quite a mismatch to me. The top drawer players all appear for Rogue Team. With Totti and Pirlo, I would worry about pace, but that is nicely balanced with Walcott. Mexes has always struck me as susceptible to blistering pace and so Torres to win this one.

Result: Win for Rogue Team

Match H

Two very balanced and well matched teams again. I was not sure where the moment of brilliance would come from for either team, so I decided this one on a mistake from the keeper.

Result: Win for Meh FC

Match I

The good players on these teams cancel each other out, such as Ribery vs Cole. I am struggling to see where any goals come from between these two, so it goes to penalties. On the grounds that all of Malouda/Adebayour/Mitu seem a bit soft in the head then…

Result: Win for Ali Dia Memorial

Match J

El Pronostico have good players on the wings and so I would worry about Pires’ ability to track back. I would definitely worry about the ability of both Van Persie and Owen to last 90 minutes! I also have questions as to whether Rossi can lead the line on his own. That said, these are two very well balanced teams, both built on strong foundations. The deciding factor for me is that Pires/Owen/Vierra all have their best days behind them.

Result: Win for El Pronostico All Stars

He's not a psychopath, he's just misunderstood. :shifty:

Having another Juan alongside will help, I'm sure it was supporting the lacklustre Cannavaro and Metzelder that drove him insane.
