Ubisoft has announced Far Cry 4, which will release on November 18 in North America and November 20 in Europe for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PC.

Far Cry 4 is set in the Kyrat, a fictional Himalayan region ruled by “a despotic self-appointed king,” confirming an earlier rumor. Whether or not Drive composer Cliff Martinez is involved remains to be seen.

Executive producer Dan Hay said Ubisoft Montreal, who is leading development on Far Cry 4, “wanted to take the franchise to the next level and create a game that will surprise and exceed fan expectations.” Ubisoft likely won’t say much until E3 in June, but as usual, Far Cry 4 revolves around weapons, animals, vehicles to allow players to create and tell emergent stories.

The Montreal studio is collaborating with Ubisofts Toronto, Kiev, and Shanghai studios, as well as Ghost Recon: Future Soldier developer Red Storm on Far Cry 4.

If you pre-order Far Cry 4, you’ll receive a “free upgrade to the Limited Edition which includes Hurk’s Redemption, a series of three action-packed single-player missions featuring the popular character Hurk from Far Cry 3’s DLC. The Limited Edition also includes Hurk’s signature harpoon gun called ‘The Impaler’.”

Are you referring to the dude in the pink suit? Correct term is transgender.

 Very good.

As for the game...

Feh. Lemme know when they announce Blood Dragon 2.

Nah, only kidding. Totally interested in this. But seriously, let me know when they announce BD 2!

Day one, loved FC3. Sacking off the crap story to go hunting, or taking over those bases. So good.

Hmm, normally i'd be excited, but this time i'm much more skeptical. Will wait for reviews, or the inevitable complete edition with all the bonus tat for less than half RRP a few months down the line.

Yep, this. Looking forward to this already. Haven't played Blood Dragon yet though, which I know I need to do.

I'm in, as long as Everest is in the game and scaled to exact proportions, and you can hang-glide from the top to the bottom.

I'd be more concerned if Far Cry 3 was built to run well on 360 and PS3. It wasn't and it didn't. Was great on PC, though.

I bet the 360 version comes on 8 discs.

I said at the time that Far Cry 3 on 360 was the only game I've ever had to stop playing because it ran so poorly. The console versions shouldn't have been getting anywhere near the scores it was given. Embarrassing.

I loved FC3, but that image says "here's yet another sadistic nutter antagonist", which makes me suspect it'll be too similar to 3. Plus he looks straight out of Saints Row.

Also, no PC version announced?

Farcry 3 was good, blood dragon was great. Just from the boxart I have a distinct feeling of déjà vi and farcry 3.1.... Nothing new to see here.

Ubisoft really love to bleed their I.P dry. First time I climbed a radio tower I thought of AC. Then they had the whole animal kills and crafting. May as well start calling them farcreed next.
