Format it to FAT-32 first, right?

Just plug it in. As long as its got enough power (which is what the Y cable is for if its an unpowered drive) that should be all you need to do. The Wii U will take care of the rest.

The Wii U has a priority file system so you can't use any other file system or share the hard disk with other devices.

This certainly does not look bad.

Agreed on download only games often being gems or even better than some physical releases. For me

Edge (definitive version, amazing soundtrack, retro graphics filter, best controls, most screen real estate, 1080p60)
Shantai and the pirates curse
Steamworld Dig (looking forward to the new games on latest direct)

Also know are good, Freedom Planet, Affordable Space Adventures

New trailer and a vague release date of December!

That does look good, but after playing Bayonetta 2 I've kind of decided not to bother with the Wii U anymore. I'll have to see how this reviews...
One thing I liked the look of in the video was interactive environments, something that hasn't been done in F-Zero or Wipeout.

Yes?

Looks shithot. A little soulless, mind. I'd prefer if there were characters in the ships. Hopefully it controls well.

Eurogamer has reviewed the game and recommended it. My impressions are that it's seriously hardcore...

Eurogamer wrote:F-Zero is a famously challenging series, but its learning curve always accommodated beginners. There are no such concessions made in Fast Racing Neo, which feels like a game that's been unwisely balanced by a team of experts. The smallest mistake is punished in the strictest terms...

...Here you, must live with your mistakes. For many, such pitfalls may prove too deep. At its best, however - when you're launching from a colour-coded ramp high over a bridge, before landing metres in front of a rival - Fast Racing Neo offers an exhilarating impression of the game to which it pays such loving tribute.

It does sound cool but I suspect the level of challenge would be a tad frustrating for me. I'm gonna pass on it, but I suspect some of you guys would dig the level of skill required.

Another great review from Gamexplain

This really looks the biz. Sounds like it's almost as bad as F-Zero GX in terms of difficulty. At least later on.

I downloaded it and had a spin. I'm going to need to get used to the steering.

I've bought it and hopefully it has downloaded onto my Wii U so that I can give it a go before going to bed.
