Don't be fooled by the ships Chalky. FAST is straight up F-Zero and nothing like WipEout.

Looks good, may have to buy another Wii U game. If it is good, have to wonder why Nintendo didn't just offer to buy it and rebadge it as F-Zero.

Yes?

Just giving this a little bump, since we now have a vague release window of December.

Here's the trailer from the Nintendo Direct.

It will be great if we can get some eight-player GRcade races on the go when it comes out

Interest piqued by the existence of a team known as Rochdale Trust.

Having just streamed about an hour of F-Zero GX I am so ready for this game. Anyone else up for some MP once it's out?

I feel like this game needs a physical retail release.

Definitely.

I saw your post about F-Zero and decided to play a bit on Dolphin but the performance isn't as good as it was a few months ago :( I tried using an older build but I still couldn't get above 45FPS on the third track of Ruby Cup. Mute City and Casino ran relatively fine and hardly dropped but it's a shame to lose the smooth quality that I used to have.

Being a physical release lends an air of legitimacy to a game. Like, "this is real, this is a big game, not some quirky indie shite" even though arsewank like Barbie's Horse Adventure was also a physical release.

I also go for physical games before downloadable ones because I'm not quite sure how to go about this USB hard drive business.

With the exteranl HDD you'll either need a y cable for the USBs in the back of the Wii U for power, or a external HDD with its own separate power supply. Then you just plugging it all in and your away.

You need to step into modern gaming where download only titles are often better than those released with physical versions, even on consoles. I don't know how you can have such a view when you even admit that shovelware, like Barbie's Horse Adventure, gets a physical release.

Nintendo recommends specific hard drives on its web site but pretty much any external hard drive will work with the Wii U. Portable ones, that don't need to be plugged into a power socket, will need a Y-USB cable so that they're plugged into two of the Wii U's USB ports while desktop hard drives (i.e. one that needs to be plugged into an outlet) will take up just one USB port.

Format it to FAT-32 first, right?

And I get that view on legitimacy because if something is in a box on a shelf at the store, it has officially arrived. Or that's how it used to be.

This looks fantastic. My poor WiiU hasn't seen any use in months.

Also, on the argument of digital vs physical, I much prefer.physical because my internet speed is so woeful.
If I had the connection I'd be downloading all the time!

Mine formatted on its own when plugging it in to the U.
