Also part of the "never fat but was chubby" group.

In uni (6-8 years ago) I used to drink 2 cans of lager on most nights and eat out at kebab places on occasion, must have weighed 87-88kg then.

But now I weigh around 83kg, hardly drink at home and if I do it's usually ale or craft lager and have grapefruit 2/3 times a week in the morning.

Some healthy food can be expensive but it is probably the combination of time and possible expense that put people off eating healthily. Just cutting down on portion size and doing a little more exercise helps a lot but even something as small as that seems too much for some people.

You can't walk into Lidl and tell me healthy food is expensive. It's what you do and make of that healthy food where the problem is.

As octoroc said, anything light's strawberry floating bullshit. The amount of times I see overweight people shoving so many weight watchers ready meals in their trolleys.. Makes me sad really, it's exploitation of the stupid who don't know anything better about nutrition and assume that mummy strawberry floating cream cracker's fine to eat because it's branded WW.

Sugar content's the real killer rather than calories. I can pile in 4000 calories a day and still have a nice physique whereas if I started having a couple of chocolate bars a day on top of a 3000 calorie day regularly my belly grows and muscle mass begins to deteriorate.

Doesn't help that the healthy stuff tastes crap compared to junk food.

This is why we need GM crops. Carrots that taste like cheeseburgers? Yes please.

Nah healthy stuff can be fantastic, and simple as strawberry float to make. Something like this is one of my staples; basically just tuna pasta but with loads of flavour. Full of calories, carbs protein and healthy fats, it's the gooseberry fool. http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/1965 ... mato-sauce

Also stones and pounds is the only way to represent weight, must be.

Smoothies are a double edged sword really. Evidently healthy but crammed with sugar, albeit natural. So if that's all you're having, wonderful. Huge benefits. But if you're still eating those other sugary foods, then you're only making that problem worse. 'Well rather than water with this Snickers, I'll have a smoothie'. Well Christ, you've just hit the 100% mark right there.

Indeed. Lidl is great for decently-priced fruit and veg.

Buy one of those Innocent veg pots, tell me they're not delicious (they bloody well are!), and then copy the back of the ingredient list and attempt to make it yourself.

In fact many of the recipes would go great with a pasta.

Indian Madras if you don't mind it spicy. Great with a Naan.
