Resident Evil

You all know the bit at the end, I honestly had no idea and the first time Barry turned on me (or not) because he died in the sewers on my first run through I never knew about him and wesker, I was generally gob smacked when I found out, innocence eh?

I think it's great that you didn't know and found out the correct way; by playing through the game.

In contrast, I had the KotOR twist spoiled for me, and I think I've had the Star Ocean 3 twist spoiled as well. I started reading a post about it, then stopped once I'd realised what was about to be revealed.

The Killer 7 twist left me a little gobsmacked, and I'm glad that, one: I gave the game another chance, and two: I purposely avoided all Killer 7 talk on the internet and in mags until I had completed the game.

I think I've probably read too much about Shadow of the Colossus, and I have an inkling of what happens in that game, despite never having started it.

I've probably played less than an hour of Metal Gear Solid 3, and still know some of what happens in that game. Including the death of a certain character.

I think my personal problem is that I never seem to play games at the right time, rather they get left, for one reason or another, until a few months, sometimes even years, down the line but I still read about them, thus more often than not come across spoilers.

I inadvertently read the Bioshock one in Games TM before getting round to playing it. I was livid.

That's one game I've actively avoided reading about. Anytime I see the game mentioned anywhere, I just turn the page or close the thread or webpage or whatever.

Finding out that Garcian was really Emir and had bumped off the Killer 7 years before was a shocker. Probably the only bit of the game I understood completely.

That's not what happened at all. So obviously you didn't understand it completely.

Borrowed from Wikipedia - At the hotel Garcian discovers that all of the Killer7 personas were victims of the massacre, all killed by Emir, save for Garcian; Garcian's persona is actually that of Emir's, who committed suicide after realizing he had shot his mentor, Harman. Emir reincarnated as Harman, Garcian, and the other Killer7 personalities, but had forgotten his past, and relearns of the painful truth in the present.

Didn't completely get some of the bits in the hotel but I did understand the whole Emir business

Yeah, I know. I was joking - you were saying it was the one thing you understood completely so I pretended you hadn't. Not particularly funny, but it seemed a good idea at the time. Should've used a Mr. Winky in hindsight.

But yeah, I think it was one of the few bits I fully understood. And yep, it's one of the all-time great twists.

Thought as much ;)

Finding out that Master was really Liquid in MGS was pretty good as well even if in hindsight I should've noticed they've got the same bloody voice actor!

Bit obvious though wasn't it?

Why hasn't BioShock been mentioned? Clearly the best and most shocking twist ever.

Its true. When he said by using that phrase thing you did everything he asked without question I was like 'No I don't!' and then realised that just by playing the game you had. :fp:
