Fentiman's and Pepsi beat Coca Cola in taste test

Every week Channel 4's Tried and Tasted asks members of the public to blind taste test products. This week, they judged cola drinks, including the UK's favourite Pepsi, luxury brand Fentiman's, 3rd best seller Coca-Cola Original, and an own-brand cola by Lidl.

They ranked them as follows:

= 1. Fentiman's Curiosity Cola (£2.89 - 750ml)
= 1. Pepsi (£1.55 - 2 litre)
3. Coca-Cola (£1.69 - 1.75 litre)
4. Lidl Freeway Cola (42p - 2 litre)

I think the biggest surprise coming out of this programme is the sales difference between Pepsi and Coca Cola. I just automatically thought Coca Cola was brand leader.

Never had Fentiman's.

Never even heard of Fentimans. I don't buy coca cola anymore due to them thinking they can cut a 2 litre bottle down to 1.75 litres and still charge the same price. Also Pepsi is regularly on offer for 99p for a 2 litre bottle...

I used to drink Diet Coke to extremes.

The only cola I drink now is regular Pepsi, and only with JD in it.

There's one in Middlesbrough I think.

I normally get a 24 pack of Vanilla coke cans from Makro, they've always had it in stock lately.
I've seen Vanilla Coke Zero recently too, but only in Morrisons.
