Well, this is all a rather unsavoury end to the tournie isn't it?

Congrats to McBig for his win. It gives me some mild satisfaction to know I went out to the eventual winner. 8-)

Big thanks to Kanbei for arranging these shindigs, always good fun to be part of.

To be honest, I can't really make those "rules" because they would have to be enforceable and as I have no way of watching matches I can't really make a proper decision. I could put it in the first post anyway under "Spirit of the Game" or something.

Perhaps people could be rated out of 10? After a game a player would rate a persons ability in terms of "Spirit of the Game".

I imagine most people would rate a person 10 out of 10.....

If at the end of the tournament you rate lower that 3 points (maybe higher?), you're not to take part in the next tourny?

Sounds decent enough. I mean, I don't think I've played anyone yet that I could say broke any of those rules (Nood and his strawberry floating tackling, mind) but seeing as Brick used the excuse that he "didn't know", it wouldn't hurt to point them out and maybe get certain folk to stop doing certain things.

Again though that's difficult and might be subject to abuse (however unlikely that is). Some people don't even bother PM'ing me and this could lead to mass arguments in the thread which none of us want to see. The only reason I would ban people from the next tournament is if they either tamper with results or don't both playing any of their games, those are the only instances where I would consider banning people.

1) Don't quit if you're getting beat. Even quite heavily. This is supposed to be a community and it comes across as really petty. Sure it's frustrating but everyone gets humped at one stage or another and it'd be nice if we could at least let the other fella have his fun.

2) Winners shouldn't gloat. It's bad enough when you've been beaten but no-one wants their faced rubbed in it.

Regarding point 1, I was lambasted for not accepting Neff's offer of ending the game at half time and giving me a 15-0 win, when I went on to win 18-0. :| Surely that is tampering with results?

And regarding point 2, I don't agree. People can be dicks if they want to. I know I have. It's all part of the fun. Kinda like Adebayor's taunting celebration at the weekend; I don't see what's wrong with it. Apart from the possible crowd violence/ safety issues, it's all in the game yo. Banning people from doing so is just putting a clamp on people's freedom of expression.

Kinda getting a bit deep there for a FIFA tourney's rules, I am aware. :shifty:

I think there is an obvious difference between a gentle bit of banter and absolute mocking of someones fifa skill.

I think that's what Ginga is getting at.

There's a difference between you beating someone 18-0 because they've blatantly given up in a competition possibly decided on goals scored, than playing well and winning 5-0 only for the other guy to quit. I blame Nerf just as much for what happened - if you can't be arsed playing for 15 minutes then why play at all? - but at the time it basically boiled down to some low form of FIFA-bullying. It just seemed weird.

And the majority, if not everyone, in the FIFA threads thought you were a complete arsehole and considered leaving you out of things. It was me and AJ that decided to include you and McBig in the last Rivals series much to the annoyance of others.
As abcd says you can have a bit of banter but being a twat about it ruins it for other people and makes them less likely to play in the future.
By all means have a back and forth but just being a dick to someone you don't know is...well...moronic :?
