Now is about the time I start bringing the best films of the year. I've checked a few lists and haven't heard of most of the flicks that are coming highly recommended.

What were your top films of the year?

I'm going to vote for Lion.

I accidentally watched this in the cinema when the person behind the counter at the cinema misheard my request for a ticket for the film Life but I was happy I did see this as it's bloody great.

I may have done this film a disservice as I watched it while I was strawberry floating knackered because of a bout of insomnia and the loudness put me right off.
I was honestly tempted to walk out and complain like a real old geezer :slol: .

To be fair the speakers in the Imax I was at was struggling like strawberry float to not be distorted so it was amazingly loud.

Probably Blade Runner.

I really liked Mother and Get Out. Looks like there are a few belters on the way in time for the Oscars.

Throughout the year I've seen:

Split
Get Out
A Dog's Purpose
Trainspotting 2
Dunkirk
John Wick 2

Get Out was comfortably the best of those.

Get Out is the only one that has comfortably stood out this year.

Brilliant film.

Get Out was the stand out. I also loved
Thor 3.

Enjoyed Baby Driver but also felt it was overrated. Disappointed by Dunkirk.

IT.
Thor 3.
Get Out.
Spiderman Homecoming.
Wonder Woman.
Logan.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

The most disappointing film I’ve seen this year goes to Alien Covenant, hands down. Utter shite.

Thor Ragnarok
Wonder woman
It
Kong skull island
The last Jedi
Get out
Colossal
The disaster artist
Blade Runner 2049
Baby driver
War for the planet of the apes
John Wick 2

Honorable mention to Geo Storm for being almost so gooseberry fool it's good

Most enjoyable experience - The Last Jedi (spoiler free viewing)
Most excited for - Shin Godzilla
Best use of a pencil - John Wick 2
Most stunning leading lady - Blade Runner 2049
Film which was awesome but no one saw - Colossal
Worst scene - Alien Covenant - arms out stretched

Pounded my Limitless card this year: 85 different films at the cinema (86 trips counting an IT rewatch). Going for 100 before the renewal on 5 Feb.

My faves this year include (no order):

La La Land
IT
Blade Runner
Logan
Three Billboards
Brigsby Bear
Get Out
Disaster Artist
Spider-Man Homecoming
Wonder
Wonder Woman
Thor Ragnarok
John Wick 2
The Florida Project

Plenty of very pleasant surprises as well (Jigsaw!). Also a ton of shite, worst offenders including Mindhorn, Power Rangers and Blade Of The Immortal.

The Handmaiden didn’t make it to any of your lists. Was that last year or something? That and Get Out are my faves of the year.

As always, didn't manage to see everything I wanted, usually as a resulted of limited screenings or inconvenient showtimes. Anyway, favourite film of the year was probably:

The Handmaiden.

Other films I've liked this year include:

A Monster Calls
Manchester By The Sea
Denial
Fences
Hidden Figures
Moonlight
Elle
The Salesman
The Lost City Of Z
Lady Macbeth
Colossal
A Ghost Story
Patti Cake$
The Limehouse Golem
Mother!
Blade Runner 2049
Battle Of The Sexes

Biggest turd of the year:

Alien: Covenant
