One of my favourite films, watched it twice over Christmas. The Sting is just as great if you want more Newman and Redford goodness.

I know it goes against the spirit of this thread but I can't be arsed to watch the currently selected film.

I do intend watching most of the films this time but I think I'll give this one a miss.

Im the opposite, I have no intention of watching anything obscure or a pain to find but the reviews this has gotten makes me want to watch it.

Mainly, I recently seem to be lacking the motivation to do much besides watch random youtube gooseberry fool and post on here (which ironically is why I'm doing this years Film club)

Secondly, I'm not a fan of the genre in general, add in the comedy and musical elements others have mentioned and it just leaves me uninterested in watching it.

Plus I have an irrational aversion to older films, I'll very rarely watch anything pre 1970 and I have absolutely no idea why; a notable exception being 2001: A Space Odyssey which is one of my all time favourites.

I really liked The Sting but I've never seen this, so I will get it watched sometime this week.

Musical elements? It has 3 (I think) short musical montages, as in a song or music plays over various scenes of them robbing banks so the movies isn't 10 hours long. There's no singing.

The whole point of a film club is to watch things you might not otherwise have been interested in. Why even bother signing up? Really poor form. I know Rubix is hurting inside because of it.

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid - 9/10

A classic; Newman and Redford make a wonderful partnership. Echoing the post above, it's worth checking out The Sting next, if you ain't seen it.

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
That was excellent! I was watching it late at night and had to keep changing the volume as the gunshots were so much louder than the dialogue (and there were a lot of gunshots!) so I missed a few things towards the end but it's definitely one to add to the Blu-ray collection and watch again. Great choice!
9/10

Watched roughly 1/2 of this the other day and will probably watch the rest over the weekend.

Every two weeks. Next film will be announced later today. Anyone who hasnt sent me a film please do so.

The way this club works is you dont have to watch films its up to you. More of a relaxed film club compared to others but obviously try and watch some of the films otherwise whats the point

PLAY | Persona 3 Reloaded [3h]
WATCH | Ted Lasso S3, HiJack S1, Red Dwarf S4, Dexter S2
RACE | Chew Valley 10k (June), GNR (Sept), Cardiff Half (Oct)

Rewatched this fairly recently -

Evil Dead II - 9/10

Enhanced by Campbell's expressive, memorable, powerhouse performance and its bigger budget, enabling Raimi to get closer to his vision; this sequel / remake is nothing other than a minor masterpiece.
